Firstly, Berry is a higher recruit than Morley. Morley was a 5 star but he was ranked like 23rd er sumthin like that.

Also being smart can be a double edged sword. The smart DB's have a tough time forgetting plays they get burnt on and get burnt again and again. DB is partially a mental thing kinda like kicker. Having said that, UT runs fairly complicated defensive schemes and a brain certainly helps. The positives outway the neg. though because 1. he'll dev. faster. 2. he won't get kicked out of school, and is less likely to go pro early and 3. he'll have an easier time reading a quarterback's eyes if he can think quickly.

PLUS Berry played QB in high school. That helps out a TON for DBs to recognize what the qb is doing and what routes the reciever is running.
