Eric Parker ungrateful?

Not sure what you mean by this, but in the AFC (I don't have time to check the NFC until later), there are 26 UT players on NFL rosters to Miami's 24. It could change in the NFC, but not by much.

Then again, still not sure if you mean the amount of players, quality of players, or something else.
Look at the impact of the guys from the "U." Count Pro Bowl appearances. That's what sets the ex-Canes apart.

Come on now, who cares about the Pro Bowl? :)

One of the airmen out here mentioned the whole Parker/high school thing the other day when it was on tv here. I told him it wasn't a big deal to me. I mean, the Chargers team photo he autographed for me says, "Go Vols", not "Go Chargers" or "Go Joliet".

Yeah, you could almost make a competitive NFL team out of just Miami players. There are some especially good defensive players and quite a few running backs, too. UT holds its own in recent NFL success against pretty much any other school, though.

Maybe it is harsh. I was attempting to speak to what I feel is a trend in that generation and the one to come. I feel its quite possible Eric Parker could have the attitude I discribed, maybe he doesn't. But it sure is good to know how to push your buttons, it may come in handy down the road.

If using the kind of logic that would make the residents of an insane asylum skeptical in order to irritate a poster on an internet message board ever proves useful to you, then you know how do it.

Santana Moss and Reggie Wayne would make a pretty good set of receivers.

Add Andre Johnson. Sinorice Moss will probably end up being pretty good, too. There's also Roscoe Parrish for the Bills. I think he is doing OK. The shortage of new Canes in the NFL the next few years will be a pretty clear indicator of the talent decline in Miami. It reminds me of the recent shortage of UT offensive players.

Let's do this for fun:

QB: Ken Dorsey
RB: Clinton Portis
WR: Reggie Wayne
WR: Andre Johnson
WR: Santana Moss
TE: Jeremy Shockey
OT: Bryant McKinnie
OG: Chris Myers
C: ?
OG: Vernon Carey
OT: Eric Winston

DE: Jerome McDougle
DT: Warren Sapp
DT: Vince Wilfork
DE: Kenard Lang? (or we'll do a 3-4 because LB is heavy
LB: Ray Lewis
LB: DJ Williams
LB: Jon Vilma
LB: Dan Morgan
CB: Antrel Rolle
CB: Phillip Buchanon (or Starks?)
FS: Sean Taylor
SS: Ed Reed

KR/PR: Devin Hester
K: ?
P: Jeff Feagles

Well, that was a waste of 5 minutes, but the current player list is pretty nice.

K: Olindo Mare. The amazing thing is that backfield leaves out Edge and Willis Mc.

Actually, Bubba has been productive for a long time. His resume at this point is better than Shock's.

Normally I agree with you and I have no love for Shockey he is very overrated, I mean playing tight end in that Giants offense is alot easier than playing in Green Bay. But I think that Franks is a wasted talent.

I'm also not sure you chose the best TE from the "U."

If you say Kellen Winslow, I might lose a ton of respect for you. We were talking about the U players running the *NFL* and Winslow hasn't played at Shockey's level ... yet.

Winslow isn't playing at Shockey's level this year. He's playing well above it. He has twice as many yards, catches, and touchdowns.

Frank Gore is another Cane running back playing in the NFL. He's not on near the same level as the others listed, but it's still impressive. Is there another tackle that could replace Eric Winston? Based on the few college games I saw him play, I don't think he is going to be a starting tackle in the NFL.

Winston has the attitude to be a great player, just not the talent.
