Iowa would be a neat matchup. Iowa finished 2004 with a 10-2 record after beating LSU in the Citrus (Capital One) Bowl. Tennessee finished 10-3 after beating Texas A&M in the Cotton Bowl.

Iowa is currently 5-4 with games remaining at Wisconsin and against Minnesota. Iowa has lost its last two games against Michigan (20-23 OT) and Northwestern (27-28). The Vols last played Iowa in the 1987 Kickoff Classic. A 23-22 win by the Vols. The other meeting between the 2 teams was the 1982 Peach Bowl where the Vols lost 22-28.

Iowa State has a bit better record at 6-3, with a chance of finishing with a better record due to playing Colorado and at Kansas in its remaining games. 2 of Iowa State's 3 losses were in overtime. They have beaten the last 3 opponents (Oklahoma St, Texas A&M, and Kansas State) handily by an average score of 41-14. They also beat Iowa earlier in the season 23-3.
