ICYMI: @CoachNeuheisel expects Art Briles to coach at #Auburn next year.

Edit: Neuheisal clarified his statement on his daily XMSirius show. In a nutshell he said that Malzahn just needs to upgrade his offense and Briles would be the OC there because of their friendship and that Jarrett Stidham would be coming with him....not necessarily go to Auburn as HC.

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) A federal judge Wednesday dismissed former Baylor football coach Art Briles and athletic director Ian McCaw from a lawsuit filed by woman who said they and the school ignored her claims that she was raped by a former player who was later convicted.

The judge dismissed the two from the lawsuit on Wednesday.

Alright, now it's time to hire him as OC

Welp, guess Baylor should put him right back on the sideline.

Auburn most likely will. The State of Alabama is the place to go to rehab a fallen coach's image...see Lane Kiffin and Steve Sarkisian. CAB will open doors in Texas for Auburn to recruit.

Is he a BU booster?
The case was assigned to Judge Robert Pittman, who usually splits his time between San Antonio and Austin, which are in the same federal judicial district as Waco. Judge Pittman only recently took the bench, although he served as a federal magistrate and spent time as the US Atorney for the Western District.

Judge Pittman went to ACU undergrad (where he was student body president) and then University of Texas law school. He started and stopped a couple of doctoral philosophy programs before completing a degree in Human Rights at Oxford.

Judge Pittman is more well-known than most new federal judges because he is openly gay, the only openly gay judge in the 5th Circuit and I believe the first openly gay US Attorney.

Dont know that an ex-prosecutor with an interest in human rights and part of a minority based on sexual preference is who Baylor would have picked for the case. Particularly when the alternative was reportedly a serial sexual harasser.

Should be an interesting battle between Jarrett Stidham and Kellen Mond at QB for Auburn next spring. I'm guessing Briles will shirt Mond and go with the QB that has experience running the offense.

Doak Walker Award candidate Johnny Jefferson will most likely be the featured RB with Kam Martin the change of pace back.

WR Tren'Davian Dickson will have to sit next season to satisfy NCAA rules due to his transfer from Houston.

I found this from an article that mentioned the whole situation; it seemed worth posting:

77 words on whether or not Art Briles should be a college football head coach again for these thoughtful and provocative times:

Hell no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no
