Its pretty stupid, people need to learn how to disassociate the political views of musicians and just appreciate their music.

This. It's unfortunate to see a classic removed from MNF, but if ESPN saw it necessary to do so, then they're probably right.

I wouldn't say it's a political point made one way or the other by ESPN; just easier to remove it rather than deal with the backlash.

That works when musicians make music that is appreciated

Awesome

Williams has said he's interested in running as a Republican in 2012 for a U.S. Senate seat in Tennessee.

Just plain dumb. Politically correct culture is silly. Seems like espn has been looking for something to can Hank for though. I doubt he really cares. He has already made his money off them.

I like it when people speak their mind. However, the company that employs you may not

I'll be honest. I am a Republican, but I think comparing anyone to Hitler is so ridiculous that it's offensive to anyone with an intellect - regardless of politics. I wish entertainers would stick to their jobs. I dislike hearing it from Morgan Freeman, so likewise I don't want to hear it from Hank Jr either.

BUT I think it's a stretch to think using his song is somehow an endorsement of his political views. They should have kept it.

he was just employed by the wrong station. At some he would get a raise by comparing the Pres to Hitler

He never compared Obama to Hitler. Listen to his words, he never made the comparison.

I don't care if you want to argue that he wasn't trying to directly compare Hitler and Obama, that was what he insinuated.

Williams, whose song "All My Rowdy Friends" has been the Monday Night Football theme on both ABC and ESPN since 1991, told "Fox and Friends" that he thought Speaker of the House John Boehner playing golf with President Obama "would be like Hitler playing golf with (Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin) Netanyahu ... In the shape this country is in?"

Told by anchor Brian Kilmeade that he didn't understand the analogy, Williams said: "I'm glad you don't, brother, because a lot of people do. They're the enemy." Asked who, Williams said: "Obama. And Biden. Are you kidding? The Three Stooges."

also funny that 'No, there is free speech' got the most votes in the poll question "Was ESPN's 'MNF' right to drop Hank Williams Jr.?"

Wrong. He was saying that Boehner and Obama are pretty much enemies and Hitler and the PM of Israel would be enemies. So enemies should not play golf together. The liberal ESPN just folds to anything negative about Barry.
