Tee Martin QB sneak against Florida in 1998 got us in field goal range to win that game.

I like QBs with some wheels

Coach Jones is high octane. He gets more done with less. A dooley opposite. Just what Tennessee needs to come off the bottom. I'm in 100 percent. Please put Tee on the staff.

You can fight over which type of QB you want; but give me a defense.

"Offense wins games, but defense wins championships"
Dang, all I want to see is Tennessee off the bottom. Stuff the 90's cry babies. It aint happening any time soon. Give this man a fair chance. He wants to be a VOL when all the others snubed us.

Go get Tee Martin as OC and let him recruit his man. He will have to beat out Peterman&Fergie though. I'm pumped up.

Not OC. Tee is not ready for that. QB coach would be awesome though. Tee will be an OC one day, but not at an SEC school for his first run.

Yep, Brian Kelly implemeted the exact same offense at ND that he ran at Cincy.

Oh wait, no he didn't. He went to a balanced run based offense, with a huge emphasis on defense.

Butch's offense at Cincy is heavily run-oriented. 200+ yards a game average.

Tennessee did win a National Championship with a dual threat QB.

Exactly, and the Vols haven't done much since Tee Martin either. Since TN running game has been pretty much a joke,a dual threat QB would be a good thing.

Weren't we a finalist on Munchie's list a few years ago, when we tried that awful Clawfense thing?

And a good coach (at the time).
We got a good one now, the man wanted the job the others were scared of the SEC including Chuckie had two chances to come and he would not even talk to us, dont respect him one bit chicken chit Gruden is his name to me.

Poor stockstill family. Rick turns down a chance to double his salary at ECU in late 2010/2011 to keep his son on track at siegel, then loses his stud RB for the season and goes 2-10 the next year. Then starts 2012 with a loss to a D-II team, manages to gain some momentum, then loses Benny Cunningham AGAIN after he singlehandedly destroys GT but somehow manages to finish 8-4 this year. Then he gets screwed out of a bowl game right after brent shreds his knee in the state semifinal game. Gotta feel bad for the guy and his son. They're a class act.

I hope not. He plays CB. LOL

Unless a CB takes snaps from center on offense, he plays QB..LOL

He has played other positions as well, but his primary role has been as a QB..Much better runner than passer IMO...

Is this the Phil Steele story? Or a different one?

Definitely not the Phil Steele Insider article. I have not been able to read the Steele story but the ESPN links had him saying that Jones will turn around Tennessee and to not bet against Jones. There was also another Insider article written by Dave Hooker that seemed to be more hesitant about this whole situation.

Anyone have access to these articles on Insider??
