ESPN is achieving a new low

What do you mean? I can't count the number of times I've been sitting in a five star restaurant, a top notch gentlemen's club, a high end concert, or a great game at the Thomas & Mack and said to myself, "This is nice and all, but I really wish I could watch some Aussie nutjob jump a football field with Mark Schlereth commentating, while ESPN hawks rubbers."

That made me choke on my Diet Coke.

:eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol::eek:lol:

HEY! I rhymed!!

funny how so many are making fun of it, yet evidently so many, including me, watched it.

Look man . . . I worked really hard to get on my high horse and be in denial about the fact that on New Year's Eve instead of being out partying I was home with a new baby watching some guy jump a motorcycle through some goal posts. I don't need you injecting reality into the equation. :p

at least you have a good excuse. I was over at a buddy's and after playing guitar hero (which i found i suck at) and some atv off road game, watching "The Trouble with Harry" (a weird comedy from Hitchcock), we settled down to watch some guy make a big jump. I'm so hip.:)

I will note, we attempted to watch Dick Clarke's show, but it was too painful to watch when they actually showed Mr. Clarke talking.

Yes- that's crazy talk! :ermm:

i really never noticed ESPN say anything remotely bad about Tennessee during the game. But if i see Mr. Donovan's parents one more time, i might throw the remote at the TV.

Heck, I was at a little New Year's party at a friends house and we watched it after the Aub-Clem game went off. Yeah, it was a rocking party...

I know this is going to come off as morbid and perhaps in bad taste, but while watching a daredevil stunt, unless it's something extremely creative, does anybody else feel like they are not entertained if the jump is successful? If he would have failed, I feel like I would have been highly entertained for that split-second moment of failure until he turned up seriously injured or dead, in which case the entertainment would have been replaced by horror.
That's how boring the whole thing was. I'm glad he's ok, and I hope I will not catch myself watching another one of those. Now, he did have a rather attractive wife - lucky man in that regard.

I found it entertaining - plenty of skill to observe during the runs. Watch how he levels the bike by hitting the rear brakes for a second. The second run was a better trajectory and correction than the first one.

Likewise, Pastrano successfully completing the double back flip at X-games was way more entertaining than if he didn't do it.

did anybody see the guy who was supposed to flip the truck but had to pull out because he over jumped his landing and landed on his roof?

now that was cool.

If you didn't get enough of that fantastic sport moment,you can go over to ESPN and play the No Limits Moto Jump in the arcade section.
