I looked up the recruiting list. Louisville only has 1 recruit in the top 100 coming in this year. Poor Geno only has one also and she’s way down the list. If his assistants are finding other jobs without being replaced and he has no real recruits coming in, Tennessee would be a big leap over what he will have in Louisville next year, if most of our players stay.

To think that he would consider going anywhere else in WCBB at this stage in his career is like thinking Pat would have left Tennessee for more $.

If Vanderveer, Mcgraw, or Auriemma left their respective schools, it would be because they wanted to take on a different challenge (coaching men or WNBA), a total disagreement with athletic department, or because they were being fired. And I don't see the latter two happening in their/our lifetime.

They are their school's program brand as much as Bryant, Saban, Krysweski, Wooden, Smith, etc. are/were.

(Although Saban would probably still foliw the $ if he were younger).

Speaking of Saban, why didn't we just "throw the bank" at him? I'm sure he might have come over for a cool $15 mill. or so annually to pad his retirement fund.

Gail is not with the Fever. I think she was an assistant for one year (2015). My gut tells me it’s going to be Walz. Where there’s smoke,
there’s fire.

He’s way better? But Frese has a National Championship and Walz doesn’t. Same with Dawn Staley. Why are fans begging for Walz when there are other coaches who have proven they can win a title? While fans just hope Walz can.

If the bar is an experienced head coach who is a proven winner, hire someone who has won a title.

Coach Walz is interested in Tennessee from the appearance of things while Brenda Frese and Dawn Staley aren't. That is the difference.

Cori Close at UCLA might be a possibility, Sweet 16 4 times, Elite 8 once, said to be ace recruiter with bright offensive mind, playing UCONN tonight. Beat Frese at MD last game.

Do your homework! Neile Ivy the asst. coach at ND is clearly the next Lady Vol coach we should go after. Terrific recruiter, detailed oriented, mentored under a great coach. She's ready for the big time and is the obvious choice for the job.
