People may not like it but we were quite laughable at those positions last year

I don't think anyone disputes that our return game was pretty weak last year, thats not the point. The point is rather than some type of compliment or reason for, say, why we're the #3 team in the country, they focus on the negative. Thats what is annoying.

Alteus21, I agree that most programs probably feel ESPN is out to get them because of the sarcastic humor and the wisecracking spin they put on everything. Except Michigan and, for the past few years, USC. With them ESPN is pure kiss-@$$.

ESPN doesn't really cover Michigan exceedingly right now, from what I can tell... Michigan has really underachieved a lot the last few years, the team has had national-championship caliber teams. It's "This team could go all the way this year" every year. But they have failed to make anything happen. So ESPN is not on them.

As for USC... They have won two straight AP National Titles and they will probably once again have the best offense in America. what more do you want?

If ESPN wants to look for something embarrassing and laughable, they might want to consider the RAW DEAL Auburn got.  Going Undefeatable in a real football conference and not even getting considered for the National Championship, now that is Laughable.

Did you witness the same things I did last season? All over ESPN, Pardon The Interruption, Around The Horn, 1st And 10, Jim Rome College GameDay, and even freaking Baseball Tonight! "Shouldn't Auburn be the one playing in the Orange Bowl? Absolutely!" It was ridiculous. I remember taking a screen capture of the ESPN MAIN PAGE and there were FIVE different sections with headlines pushing Auburn's Orange Bowl bid!

Last season, one team had to get the shaft. It was inevitable. USC was trying to defend their national title. I know it's wrong to use what happened in 2003 as any basis for judgement in 2004, but you have to know voters wanted to see them repeat. And Oklahoma, who I don't like and it hurts me to say this, was more deserving of the Orange Bowl than any team in the country. They dominated, decimated, destroyed, disabled and decapitated the Big XII South last season while hardly breaking a sweat. Not to mention the Big XII South had five of their six teams ranked last season.

I guess I should have known this thing would have gone on into the next season.
