What do you expect? Kentucky invented what we know as "Midnight Madness" today. It was started in 1971 by Maryland but was quite different from the midnight madness' that we are accustomed to. Kentucky was the first school to officially promote the celebration with formal entertainment acts. They were the ones who coined the name "Midnight Madness". They spend on average over a million dollars into the festivity every year.
(Per Wikipedia)

Of course with that much hype people are going to want to get their chance to see! I am a graduate of UK. They offer tickets to the students first. If they could sell all 24,000 tickets to students they would. Thats why people are so frantic about getting the leftover tickets. There aren't many left!

was up at 645 to get them through ticketmaster. had 2 about half way up in the uppers but decided to let them expire due to the fact that i won't be off work until late that night so getting up there would be a rush, plus i'm going to the fball game the saturday before and the day and don't really wanna spend the money for a hotel room on the night of the 15th. it's fun times though. we do it right, that's for sure.

My experience has been that the fanbase is mainly composed of a bunch of jackasses that know nothing about history or sports yet simply think they are entitled to win a national championship in everything every year simply because they live in a state which once house the Baron and the Bear, Go Big Blue. It is possible, though, that you are talking about parts of Kentucky I have never visited.

I have never been to Adairville, FTR.

.

After reading my post again, I don't think I said anything contradictory to your analysis. And adairville sucks.
