Fields, more important than anything else gives us the ability to "outbig" the opponent if the matchup dictates. That and his weakside defense is immaculate, something we have lacked for years.

We have certainly lacked clean and spotless weakside D.

Larry Eustachy is frustrated he didn't know the "I don't recognize those pictures" defense was an option.

Right, are those really coeds? Are you sure that isn't Pepsi that everyone is drinking? That was taken when I was in college and is 25 years old. So many options were available to him if he had only known.

Like everyone else, I don't know much about Fields, but I thought he looked mobile and fairly athletic for the big guy he is. To me, he didn't really look offensively limited, but he didn't put up too many shots. However, I love that he dunks with 2 hands. Swiperboy could take a lesson in that field (no pun intended). Either way, he's going to be a great and integral backup center (I wouldn't think he'd beat Brian to the starting spot at this point).

Must be scrimmage, cause fields was only at the RTL one night to announce his commitment. He is beastly and will be great at running the floor for us in transition offense and defense

No doubt, he will be the best passer and shooter of towels and water cups UT has ever seen. His ability to delicately hand off those paper cups without damaging them is unrivaled. We can rest assured that we'll have a lock-down towel distributor who NEVER leaves anyone's face soggy.

Is this a joke or sarcasm? Tyler is only on the team because of his mother. What was your take on him from the RTL or the last scrimmage? Is this your assessment of his talent?

Side note: I wonder what Pat thinks about her son being coached by and playing for Bruce after all this junk?

My guess is Pearl doesn't coach him that much and he probably won't play.

There will be 2-3 games this season that Summit sees the court. Brevard, Indy, and one reg season blowout. lol

I would have to guess that with him technically being part of the team, he would have to listen to Bruce and accept coaching. I'm sure Mommy wouldn't accept anything less. Can you imagine the heat Tyler would face from Bruce and Pat if Bruce told her that Tyler wasn't practicing hard?

Who cares. He will contribute on the practice squad and they let him sit on the bench during the games. Good for him.

Being exposed to Pearl will be a great asset for him as he enters the coaching profession.

Why? Jim Harrick got fired less than a year and a half after winning a national title for lying on an expense report. Pearl knowingly lied to the governing body for college athletics, then, by UT's estimation, engaged in conduct to cover it up.

Harrick had numerous issues with the AA, and it wasn't his firstinvestigation.

But we don't have our championship yet! And we aren't UCLA. We need this guy!
