Honestly I must agree. There is no doubt that the TN CJH offense is potentially ridiculous. I kinda find myself buying in on Milton here. He certainly has the physical tools, so the question is can he fit the offense? I think he can, he has a background in it, and a full off season being #1. If he isn’t successful now then he never will be. I am confident that he will do very well in this offense.
Does this mean TN will take down those at the top and win the SEC? Probably not, but who knows? Doesn’t really matter, if I’m a TN fan I’m ecstatic to have an offense like this, with the understanding that if the talent and defense catches up the sky is the limit.
Big Joe has his chance now. If he does his job, there potentially huge rewards waiting for him in the NFL. If we see the Big Joe we saw in the Clemson game AND if the defense improves measurably, then we go to Tuscaloosa with a chance to leave with a W and a fighter’s chance against GA in Neyland. Personally, I’d like to see Big Joe become a dual threat this fall…meaning he learns to beat defenses with his legs. I’d also like to see our secondary dramatically improve and no longer be the Achilles Heel of our team.
The other team can’t win if they don’t score.
Agree with your thoughts here......it could be that the defense is a surprise (in a good way for a change) and allows JM to settle in to the job and to truly find his niche as to how much he moves around and runs it too on occasion. The OL still concerns me and that group MUST come along very well and quickly to give him a chance to play his best in my opinion.
The fact that he didn't transfer says a lot about him. Lost his job, didn't pout and continued to work on his craft. Literally was a leader from the bench. We bring in a high profile freshman and all Joe does is lead us to an Orange Bowl win. 2 years ago I was out on Milton or at least giving him the side eye. He looked like a different guy vs Clemson. That's just 1 game but it was a very big game. He had everything to lose and everything to gain. No in between. CJH has proven to be a QB Guru. If he believes in him I have no reason not to. I think you can book double digit wins this year. If we catch a few breaks we're in the playoffs.I think Hendon was a major impact on Milton’s approach to the game.
Milton has a long, long, long way to go to get in the same zip code as Mahomes. Mahomes is who he is because of his processing ability and his accuracy, the two things Milton has the furthest way to go in. It would be awesome if he makes those areas strengths; but the Mahomes comparison is a reach at this point IMHO.Barring injury, I would be surprised if Joe Milton did not win the Heisman and fell out of the top ten in the draft. Joe is a great kid with generational talent that just happens to have an offensive genius guiding him. I can see him later being spoken of in NFL circles as people speak of Patrick Mahomes.

He wins the heisman and falls out of the top ten of the draft ? If he wins the heisman , w his talent he goes no later than 3rd in any draft … everBarring injury, I would be surprised if Joe Milton did not win the Heisman and fell out of the top ten in the draft. He has zero chance winning the Heisman with a Tennessee Orange T on his helmet.Barring injury, I would be surprised if Joe Milton did not win the Heisman and fell out of the top ten in the draft.
