Also he did leave Louisville in better shape than he found it. You can blame him for a lot of stuff but them making bad hires after he left isn't on him. Snake? Yes. Do I want him as our coach? HELL no.

Talent wise...sure, but e left a dumpster fire of discipline issues for Kragthorpe to clean up. It was atrocious. Will be interesting to see if that happens in Arky as well. Time will tell.

They're a much better team than before he got there and it's not even close. I'll admit he is a snake but he improved Arky big time.

not really. They had a couple of QBs come in and work out well, but the defense has continued to suck and they'll sorely miss Petrino's offensive genius. The talent level isn't something that UT would be proud of.

not sure he was here long enough to fully implement his prison system of recruiting, but they'll feel a little. What he did do is garner enough press for him to get a few offensive recruits on board, but it's nothing scary. The press is just too stupid to look through the W-L record last year.

I'm certainly not sold on sustainability without Petrino's presence.

My favorite part of the whole story is Petrino's insistence that he was at his destination job.

His ofense was really good across the board. The running game suffered when Davis got hurt but other than that they are still really good.
He finally realized a bend don't break defense won't cut it in the SEC and hired a good DC. Their defense looked a lot better in the bowl game even. So I disagree with you about his ability as a coach. He's a bad person but a very good coach.

no, the offense wasn't good across the board. They couldn't run the ball when Davis was healthy previously. He had Adams and Childs paired with Mallett which made that work and followed that up with a season of outscheming everyone from an offensive perspective. The lived and died by a load of big plays.

He was the beneficiary of the conference falling off last year. Aside from LSU and AL, the conference sucked and his team was nowhere close to competing with those two. Hell, they effectively lost to that sorry ass VU team and should have been beaten by at least one of the MS crapholes.

Their defense blows. No talent. The offense will take an enormous step back without him to out think DCs in game.

They were a big 12 team under Petrino. I know yore dying to make the SEC spud stronger by calling them good, but the league blew goats last year aside from the two horses. Arky needed cardiac kits because they couldn't run it or play defense. Go freaking watch.

Well that is good, because I doubt he would want to live in the sh!t hole that is starkville anyways.

No offense but I'm sure he would rather come to State and win than go to Tennessee and have to rebuild. Don't take that the wrong way, just stating the facts.

What?

He signed Willie frickin Williams. He left UL with a team of future felons. That's not "improving" anything.

I thought this would be fun to revisit. It is official. Petrino leaves a bigger wake than Lou Holtz.
