ESPN's 30 for 30 presents: "Ghosts of Ole Miss"

Yeah, I can completely understand how things got so bad. It was a way of life back then. But what still gets me is just how slow things are getting up to date. Something about those images as recent as the 90's where the crowd was just a sea of rebel flags was really chilling to me.

And I get it, the school has a history that they are really proud of and way of life they are proud of, but there was a lot of nastiness associated with that way of life.

No idea why they agreed to have this filmed. Seems like it just made them look worse. Must've gotten paid a big amount by ESPN.

The battle flag don't bother me at all, Col Reb don't bother me Dixie don't bother me. I've been to Oxford very beautiful place. They are letting that stuff go to move on with the rest of the 21st century

Ole Miss was stupid to ditch Col Reb and Dixie. That was school tradition and history thrown away. Ole Miss Black Bears...wtf cause some old president didn't shoot one.

Good 30/30, unbelievable we are so little removed from those ideas. Can't believe people can be brainwashed into believing racism is ok TODAY, sadly they are.

Yeah it's at the Lyceum, same place the riots happened in 62. Google klan rally ole miss 09. Should be some good reads on it.

To put it in context, it was 6 rednecks from BFE MS who were OPPOSING what Ole Miss was doing and they got cussed out by Ole Miss fans the entire time.

But Col Reb - he was just an old Southern Gentleman like we see on the box at a KFC - kind of a double standard like with the NCAA and Indians nicknames/mascots but yet Florida St uses one because they pay off the Seminole tribe.
