The pics aren't too bad, I suppose... Before anybody complains that Riggs is not the RB on this list, let's appreciate they picked two of our wonderful d-linemen, one of which is picked to be the best defensive player in the whole SEC.

I still have yet to see ANYTHING out of Chris Leak that makes ESPN so high on him. Has he ever beaten UT?

Nope.

:Bbiteme:

ESPN was obviously never very high on Peyton, judging by the Heistman campaign they waged against him.

 My point was it never made Peyton any less great. I think Leak is a very talented QB as well, even if his team/coaching is not good enough to beat some teams. I think we will probably look back and realize he was better than we think he is now.

comparing Chris Leak to Peyton Manning is like comparing Prime rib to boloney and I for one don't think he will be any better than I think he is now

I'm not saying Leak isn't "good". But I AM saying he's not "great". Great quarterbacks get it done and since he has been UF's QB, neither he NOR his team has really gotten it done.

Let me rephrase... I was not trying to say Leak is on the same level as manning. I'm just saying you can't judge a quarterback based on his team's records. Most I've seen around here act as if Leak was one of the worst QB's in the SEC. In my experiences, you don't suck and lead the conference in passing; especially when you've got a coach like Zook working against you.

By "lead the conference in passing" does that refer to how many pass attempts/completions he had or just how many times he threw the dang ball?

Last season, Leak led the SEC in passing yards with 3197 yards. Leaks's stats are actually pretty good, and depending on what Meyer does with him, I believe he and Jay Cutler will be the two best QB's in the SEC.

Milo, you'll have to forgive some TN fans if they don't give Leak his due. The guy showed a complete lack of class during the recruiting process and said some things he shouldn't have. I think Leak is a good, not great, QB. The SEC is not exactly loaded at QB right now though, so he's probably the best in the SEC by default until Ainge or DJ Shockley prove otherwise.

Actually, I personally think Cutler will be the best. To perform like he has on a team that bad is pretty astounding. I think he may very well take Vandy to the 4 spot in the East this season.

Jay Cutler?? He's an OK QB and everything, but best in the SEC???

Alright, well really probably not. I think Cutler looks more average than he is because the rest of his team is just terrible... But I think it's poor little Vandy's time to go a year without having to battle Kentucky to not get the bottom spot in the SEC East. Couple that with the fact that South Carolina may very well be one of the least-talented teams in all the BCS Conferences, and maybe the poor 'Dores can have a dream season with a fourth spot in the SEC East.

I just like to throw the little guys a bone every now and then. 'Cause the year after next, Vandy continues it's strong tradition as a doormat.

Don't be so fast to flush SC down the toilet. They do have some defense and with SOS running the offense, they will eventually move the football. They'll get 5-6 wins, which sadly will probably be enough to finish 2-3 games ahead of Vandy.

I'd just like to see Vandy finish ahead of the Cocks...

Actually, I think it would be hilarious to see the Cocks finish BELOW Vandy. :eek:lol:

I'm just hoping here. I still remember how cocky the SoCar fans were last season. They could use a swift kick in the pants.

You don't know the half of it. I have to work with those Gamecock fans. It's the same thing every year. They win a few games and think they have things figured out and then us, Florida and Clemson nuke them back to reality and they realize that they suck again.

I personally cannot wait for the UF-SC game. Seeing ole "once a Gator, always a Gator" get his butt handed to him will make my weekend.
