Don't even put Leak's name with Mannings! Leak couldn't carry Mannings jock strap and that's a fact!

The most Glaring omission is Allen. He's a Preseason AA but not All-SEC.

 Come on freak... You know I'd never try to compare the two skill-wise. Peyton's turning into one of the greatest QB's of our times and Leak... Well, he's alright in college but I'd be suprised to see him do anything in the NFL.

Like anybody here believes a self-proclaimed Vols fan would even think of putting Peyton and Leak in the same league

Sheesh :shakehead:

Well the fact that Peyton never be....had too much success...against the GAtors and STILL did well only goes to show how insignificant the Gators really are.

;)

Quit backpeddling Milo,

You were right in bringing up the Manning/Florida angle.

It was one thing that gave voters some excuse not to vote for him. Between that and ESPN reminding voters every 30 seconds that he did not beat Florida, he lost the Heisman.

Now, I disagree with that logic on voting a player up or down for the Heisman, but the fact that Peyton never beat Florida is a cloud that still hangs over his head.

You still hear tv guys talk about it a lot.

By natural extension, if Leak never beats the team who he was committed to play for, whose coach he openly and publicly criticized, then he'll forever be marked by that failure.

Peyton Manning is by far the most talented skill player to ever don the Orange, and as far as I'm concerned, he's the best QB in the history of the game, but the fact does remain, he never beat Florida.

And when he was playing SEC ball, they were the guage by which you measured yourself.

Jay Cutler??  He's an OK QB and everything, but best in the SEC???

While I am no Vandy fan, I think the best in the SEC would have to be him or Leak at this point. Cutler is a great athlete and a lot of NFL analysts have him in the top five QB's in next year's draft. Not to compare the two, but if manning played at vandy his college career would not have been great either....you have to have decent players around you to have success no matter who you are.

Jay Cutler 147/241 for 1844 yds 61.0% 7.7 ypa 10 TD 5 INT 24 sacks 134.8 rating 109 rushes 349 yards 3.2 AVG 6TD

I think any QB who can put up those stats in the SEC with high school talent around him should be pretty darned good.

I think the Allen "omission" is ridiculous, as well. The guy was likely a high draft pick for the NFL and returned as All-American. Come on.

Don't forget about Simon, either. . . .

They also brought up Charles Woodson's lack of real offense many times on ESPN too.

Peyton didn't have many negatives yet that was a glaring one...to expect major media outlets to not mention it is absurd.
