The 10 best women's college basketball players for 2020-21

Rennia didn't make the list. I think she has a chance to finish her season as a WBCA AA, but it just shows that there is a lot of competition. Of note, I'm quite surprised to see Evina made the cut...

Yea I agree with coach Jumper BOTH Rennia and Rickea belong on that list over her. But I guess you have to have someone from a certain school on there😒

I would have went with Christyn Williams or even Olivia Nelson because of her potential of being a game changer. When she did show up UConn was a much better player. But you also could have added Cooke from SC to that list.

Destiny Slocum or Chelsea Dungee could have made that list!

Williams showed no improvement from her freshman year. Ododa was solid, but there are better centers out there. Jessika Carter deserves a nod before she does. Evina is good and has the potential to be a top 10 player, but she sure as hell wasn't when she left Tennessee so her inclusion is a head scratcher. Agree with the other players you mentioned as more deserving. Very SEC heavy alternate list, though...but I had a hard time thinking of better options.

of course it’s SEC alternate heavy those are the girls I saw kill each other the most😂

To be fair we cant really consider Destiny an SEC player just yet because all of her damage has been done in the Big 10 and Pac12. So there see you go a non SEC flavor. She just happened to want to be a SEC basketball player after all 😂

Slocum is not a top 10 player in womens basketball. If she were Arkansas would be a preseason top 10 team next season. Slocum isnt a bad player but she isnt elite top 10.

She should be on that list over Westbrook. Given her resume and the fact she isn’t coming off an injury that was worse than though

I do agree Dungee or Rickea Jackson should be on there and/or Davis who performed well against the better teams last year.

Westbrook shouldnt be on the list because she didnt even play last year. However, I really liked Westbrook and hated she left UT. I would take her all day over Slocum.

I would also take Jackson Dungee or Davis over Slocum. Thats my original point, Destiny while good should not be mentioned to make the top 10 list.

Well this is downright silly. And obviously based on perceived potential and not actual on-court performance. Otherwise not a million years does Westbrook make this list over Davis and Jackson.

I also like Evina, agree she has great potential, and am glad she's getting a chance to develop. Her's was one of many recent sad LV stories, and I'm happy for any of them who avoided the Jamie Nared Trail of Tears. However, what she's actually shown on court in no way merits this recognition and it does look suspiciously like Pleasin' Geno Porn.

Sadly, she was loyal to a fault...
I've been thinking about this today, in light of the discussion over insta-hating on players who leave, especially for a rival team.

Of course anyone is free to automatically diss "jumpers", but is leaving to reach your full potential and/or play for a better team something we're just going to have to get use to? Espec if the no sit out rule passes?

Is it fair to ask players to waste a career, and they only get one, or to stay somewhere they're unhappy instead of seeking a new situation? Coaches do it all the time, leaving kids they recruited, and they do it for money. So its a character flaw if a kid does it? I actually wish Jamie had explored options instead of wilting on the vine here.

Of course this team hopping would be terrible for parity and would lead to a few super teams. But strictly from a players point of view, why would they not want to play where they have a chance to play for championships or at least be more competitive?

One thing the team hopping means for sure is that a coach better love recruiting, or have a staff who does. It would be endless recruiting, then re-recruiting, fighting to keep, looking to fill. Sounds pretty arduous.

It is one thing to leave, it is another to go to a rival and shout "I'm here"

I don't blame Jaz for being excited. Besides, it's not like she said "Sorry not sorry", trashed Kellie or some other petty sh!t. If she gave an interview to the KY press and was excited to talk about her new team, that is nothing to hate on her about.

I'm all for players going where they feel they need to be and dealing with the consequences, for better or for worse. Sometimes it's a good situation, sometimes you screw up. Players will do what they think is best for them. Sometimes it's paradise, sometimes the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

I saw the post with several pics of her in the KY blue and saw red.
I'll get over it.

So if the LVs get a transfer from a rival, say Connecticut (right, I should live so long), that player should not grant interviews nor post pics in her new uni? For how long? What's a decent interval?

I feel sure if such a player did those things in the first hour after her announcement this audience would eat it up on a silver spoon, repost it five times, and swoon over her level of commitment and devotion.

I get we're homers but the double standards here lately are dizzying.

Actually, the Lady Vols have already had a transfer from UConn. In 2005, Aubrey Guastalli. Granted, she was a walk-on and had been a walk-on at UConn and West VA before that, but she transferred from UConn to Tennessee!

Don't remember her at all but I sure hope that young lady had the good raising to not go posting any pictures or videos or other excitements before a proper period of mourning for her former school!

The list is a ridiculous and just an exercise to fill space. You can probably name 25 players that deserve inclusion. And I agree in Evina should be left off. How can you predict her production with; not playing a year, major knee surgery, and integrating into a new system that will force her to change her entire approach to the game. You don't have any idea how she will perform until Jan/Feb timeframe.
