Assuming Nance redshirts, do we even really need a QB in the 2010 class? We have pressing needs along the lines, and I would love to sign an extra OL/DL if possible. Forgive me if this is an ignorant assessment because I haven't been following recruiting all that long.

I think that we could use an explosive back. I say get the quickest guy.

That would be Bellamy, he can fly.

There will be plenty off guys that I left off that are interested in UT this is just from the ESPNU 150 watch List, so these guys are potential 4*/5* players.

Premier junior prospect Kelvin Benjamin (Belle Glade, Fla./Glades Central) revealed his five favorites for ESPN affiliate Web site InsideTheU.com.

"Yea I do have a top five actually," Benjamin said. "It's Miami, Florida, Florida, State, Tennessee, and I like West Virginia too."

Early playing time opportunity and education appear to be two factors Benjamin will consider.

He has caught 30 passes for 718 yards (23.9 average) and six touchdowns so far this fall.

Class of 2011 ESPNU 150 Watch List signal-caller Teddy Bridgewater (Miami/Northwestern) has received written scholarship offers from Miami-FL, Florida, Tennessee, West Virginia, Alabama and Florida International, ESPN affiliate Web site InsideTheU.com reports.

One schools caught Bridgewater's eye, "I would say the one that jumped out to me was Tennessee because the first thing that came to my mind was Peyton Manning. I watched him at Tennessee but I watched him even more in the NFL and I hope I can be as good as he was."

The 6-foot-2, 173-pound junior has already decided to wait until November 10th, 2010, his birthday, to make his decision.

Last fall, Bridgewater completed 97 of 160 attempts (60.6-percent) for 1,560 yards, 16 touchdowns and just three interceptions. He rushed for 211 yards and two more scores and caught one touchdown pass.

Bridewater could be a possibility if we keep selling the Peyton thing. That would be cool.

If Bray starts and plays well then it could hurt, but that would mean we don't need a qb. Other than that Stephens will be gone, Sims only has 2 years, and I don't think the other 2 will scare anybody.

If Bray starts and plays very well, then he takes the RS and could just step in and start as a RS sophomore.

Stephen Rivers - 6"6" 190 lbs. ( AL )

he really wants to be a Vol and being Philip's younger brother can't hurt

Nance should never see a snap while at Tennessee, the difference in talent between the top guys in '11 and him is like Jamarcus Russell and Peyton Manning.

I think of it as we finally caught up to having the number of QB's on the roster that we should with this year's class. Having said that, you generally want to take at least 1 QB every year. So since we're just caught up now, yes I believe that we need to sign a QB in the '11 class.

JR college version wasn't too bad but I see where you're going.

I hope we can get one.. but does the number of QB's we have hurt our chances?

Are you kidding? Several of our quarterbacks are basically nothing more than guys to throw passes to WR's and running backs in practice without overtaxing the arm of the 2 QB's that actually have a shot at starting this year.

Sims isn't going to scare anybody either.

Yes. We need a top notch QB in the next recruiting class. Right now we have one highly touted freshman and then a bunch of guys best suited for holding clipboards.
