Etsu fulmer presser fri 1st

Did somebody say BBQ? Ridgewood, Firehouse, and Pratts are my top three. Hokie Smokie in JC is very good as well. Pardner's is awful and so is Red Pig. The Dream Pit and Dixie are decent but they both have the same problem. Their sides leave a lot to be desired.

Pratt's isn't that good, except for their honey hams for the Holidays. Dixie is delicious and I've never had cold food there. Their taters and onions will make anyone's mom jealous.

I personally find Ridgewood massively overrated and would eat my weight at Firehouse each time I came home if the Army didn't mind me getting fat. Red Pig is solid too. I've heard good things about the place off Eastern Star Rd headed towards Kingsport, but still haven't gotten to try it.

1. Ridgewood - pretty good
2. Firehouse - good
3. Phil's Dream Pit - never had it
4. Red Pig - blaspthemy

dixie barbecue beats red pig!

asheville's 12 bones is decent. but to me firehouse and ridgewood.

Haven't had Dixie BBQ yet, but I have heard its great! :good!:

So are you a ETSU insider? How are you so sure it *is* going to happen? I'm just curious I live in JC and am pretty good friends with a lot of the donors and staff and havnt heard anything from them!

Yes, and 99% sure. There's a reason you haven't heard anything. Things are being run *very* differently now with the new leadership in place. Times are changing in Bucville, and definitely changing for the better! :)

When's the board of regents meeting? I want the final word as if there going to have a football program or not.

Phil's is the place off of eastern star right? I've heard great things about that place, really need to try it next time I'm in. It's just tough. I usually come in on four day weekends and I can't believe bring myself to not eat Pal's, Greg's, Moto's and of course Firehouse. Tough to fit a new place in.

You all just think Hart and Cheek is a bad combonation for your athletic department. They are rank amauters when it comes to trying to destroy an athletic department compared to Stanton/Mullins. ETSU basketball has been playing in the Dome since
1977. roof leaks, seats are small and uncomfortable and it generally sucks for baksetball.
We can't use half the seats because of fire marshall regs (lost our grandfather clause when we dropped football).

So instead of building a new basketball arena they built, new tennis courts, a golf center
probably nicer that what UT has, a softball field, a baseball field the above mentioned soccer field and a project that hasn't finished yet building yet another tennis center.
Got us kicked out our old conference when the dropped football and it leaked to the press before they had mentioned it to the Socon, (the commish found out ETSU was dropping football by reading it in the paper).

Those two guys have done all they kind to destroy the primary sports at ETSU.

The reason given for dropping football was it was losing a million dollars a year. So the year after football was dropped do you the the athletic budget went down? Nope it went up 250,000.

And to add insult to injury they turned around and spent $900,000 on a bell tower that none of the students wanted.

didn't go through the countless pages to see if this was addressed, but ETSU didn't build the golf center, tennis centers, softball field, soccer complex or the baseball field, they were funded overwhelmingly by donors. The Dome is a dump, but they've yet to find someone willing to pony up enough to help build a basketball arena. They wanted to do a dual arena deal with the City of Johnson City, but the City was too greedy (as always). Mind you that was during the Pete Paduch City Commission years so things might be different now (or is he still on the City Commission? It's been too long since I've lived there).

Phils is good, but I would just stick to Firehouse if I were you. Also, if you like Moto's, you would love Yomatos. Way more food for your money.

I tried Yomatos and wound with four meals out of all the food, but I think Moto's tastes better personally. It's been a staple of mine since HS back in the late 90s though.

Ok i was off on the date, but according to go vols extra its picking up steam and article in johnson city press had phil on campus yesterday.

"We were just talking to Coach Fulmer some about if there was potential for him to help us on down the road as we move forward if and when this football thing happens, would there be any potential for him to help us in some capacity,” Sander said to Johnson City Press. “To gauge his interest. He told me he would give us some basic thoughts about some things.
“When you have a chance to talk to somebody that’s won a national championship, is in the Hall of Fame, probably as revered as any football coach in the South, you’ve got to talk to him and just really value everything he says."
