The smart folks know how interesting it was to see ETSU give the runner-up in the SEC a much better game than the mighty Cavaliers from the ACC actually taking the lead on the second half while the Gators held Virginia to 17 points. Strongly shows how little those knew who said UT's win there was no more important than any other game. Too bad the depth of the Vols due to poor recruiting led to am exhausted team folding at crunch time. Barnes seems to not only have trouble recruiting but also in keeping the players he has. Excellent choice by Hart.

Dude it's fine that you want to carry Donnie's water for him. In actuality it would be really good for UT if Tyndall is cleared and exonerated. But to criticize the hire of Rick Barnes is just plain dumb. He is a very accomplished coach whether you like him or not. Has had high levels of success in two power 5 conferences and is building for success here. Much better resume than Forbes.

Our 3 stars did pretty dang good against some 4 and 5 stars. Future is brighter than you think.

With the 4 alarm dumpster fire left behind by Donnie Tyndall, why would ANY highly rated player want to sign with TN before the program is on solid ground?

Barnes was hired to rebuild our program. Thats why he was chosen. Experience. That being said its going to take time before we are recruiting at a high(er) level because the national perception of our program isnt that great. Bruce was the nail in the coffin and DT was the hammer that drove it home.

Barnes did a great job this year with what we had. We beat some teams werent supposed to and were talking about the bubble watch in March. No one expected that coming in.

I think Pons is a guy that can really help get us back to the tourney next year and really start to reshape how we are perceived. Once we get back to the tourney once or twice in a row, kids will start to look at us more.
