The Nou Camp only holds 99,000 for the world's premier team in the world's most popular sport.

White Hart Lane, home of Tottenham Hotspur, can only fit 38,000 when their arch-rivals Arsenal journey across north London (of course, Arsenal almost always whip dey azz). Tottenham are routinely fifth in the world's richest soccer league.

Last year's open practice brought 39,000 Tennessee fans in the pouring rain.

We're talking about PRACTICE. Not a game. PRACTICE!

Open practice is 16-Aug. Free admission, free parking, all good. Tennessee fans are the best in the world.

Sorry if I ruin your fun, but right now I'm wandering around South America, for a few weeks, and futbol or soccer is on 8 channels on my hotel cable. I was bumped up to first class on my flight down due to a cancelation and was set up next to a European/American sports merchandise executive, for a famous shoe company that the Vols have used in the past. He told me without a doubt that futbol or soccer is worth more in marketing and market share than all other sports in the WORLD combined, way, way more. When I asked him to compare the Super Bowl to the World Cup, he laughed! So even though my Spurs will always wander around fifth in the premier league, it really doesn't make sense what you're saying. Get out of the states a bit and see how often they televise our football or griders any where else in the world. It comes on at around 2am on Sunday on a channel nobody watches, if at all. While yesterday i saw a nation transfixed by a game between Sevilla and Real Madrid, and this is Ecuador, a nation six thousand miles away from Spain. This is not to say I love futbol more than football, I love our Vols! But wake up boys, reality is reality! Now Go Big Orange!

Nobody around here gives a sheet about soccer or what people in South America or Europe like to watch. Running up and down a giant field kicking a ball and can't touch it with your hands is just plain boring. 0-0 scores in 90 minutes of kicking a ball around a field doesn't pique my interest.

Sorry to ruin your fun, but this is America. Nobody cares about soccer. That is reality.

I bet some of you guys have never even stepped foot out of the country. And that's sad, because soccer can be a beautiful sport. They don't call it the most beautiful game for nothing. Of course I don't like it as much as Vols football or Hoosier Basketball, I actually can be a bit bored by it. But your lack of respect and ignorance of both the peoples of the world and dare I say it racism is breathtaking. It reminds me of all the negative stereotypes people have of Tennessee and the south in general. Thanks for being the very type of folks that we've tried to overcome for so long. Apparently we've got a long way to go.

If you don't like soccer that's fine, if i had the choice i would pick football, basketball and baseball over soccer. I just don't understand the point in bad mouthing the sport.

I am so glad to have loved the Big Orange since I was nine years old, and it wish us the best this year (do we have a QB yet?) And I'm Trying to get tickets to go see us whip some gator tail when I get back! But I don't need to demean other peoples or their sports to do it.

To say that because somebody says they don't like soccer they are racist is so unbelievably beyond the pale I have a hard time responding to such ridiculous comments. And if you think the only place where people don't care for soccer is in the south or Tennessee go ANYWHERE in the country and take a poll. We've got a long way to go indeed. You sir are a buffoon.

Yeah I had to do a double take on his post. I thought, no way he's accusing racism because people don't like soccer LOL..
