So its more about Santelli, than the projections of UE being at 9.2 next year.
Well, you could look at it that way. After all, the thread title is "Even Santelli...." That should give you a clue.
As to whether the UE number goes up or down or ends up at 9.2 next year, I don't know. You may well be right.
The point is, there is an active effort by the hard right to dismiss good economic news simply out of hand, justified or not, simply because Obama is president and they just cannot stand that.
Santelli being the perfect example of that, and in this context. I have a hard time understanding why a guy who is supposed to be a market reporter -- not political commentator -- just is repeatedly allowed to say that he is LOOKING for a reason to ding the numbers because of his own political agenda.
I don't get it. I mean, if he has something to report to say that we need to be mindful of this or that when trading, okay. But to say he thinks the numbers are good and promising but that he'll go see if he can come up with something negative to say, just seems pathetic to me.
And seems like the market believes he's full of crap, too, as it is up about 1.2 percent so far today.
That was one part of my initial post: Santelli hates Obama so much that this morning on CNBC, and supposedly there to report on the market, his reaction was that he couldn't see a reason to complain, but WILL GO FIND ONE.
Guys like him don't want the economy to get better under Obama. They actively root against improvement. It is quite disturbing.
