Had the pleasure of working with a lot of Navy, Marines, and Army at Misawa AB Japan back in the 80's. Before the Navy girls went on sea duty they used to go to a remote site in Hokkaido Japan. When I went there to fix the electronics, they were always frisky and happy to see me even if I was just average looking. Also they couldn't leave the site unless they had a male escort. lol

Good Times!!!!!!

That’s pretty cool. The most miserable time of my life was when the Navy sent me there for my B school. After doing boot and A school in Orlando, during the summer, they sent to that place for the winter. One extreme to the other. Dang wind would cut ya. It wasn’t cold…it was pain. I’d went back to boot camp just to get out of there.

Navy vet here; I was stationed at NAF Misawa 1984-1986. I worked on the tail end with the team that built and implemented Ripsaw Bombing Range and then operated the range working with JASDF. I was there when Col. Ryan was the CO of the new 432nd fighter wing {F16s} and Capt. Evans was our skipper at NAF Misawa. Small world, eh?

Orlando is where I did boot also; May to July in 1982. Jeez, the grinders would blind and blister you in the summer sun.
I dang sure remember that grinder. Can’t imagine how much sweat that thing has gotten poured over it.
I had the luck of going through when they were trying out their first company of divers. They tested everybody before we started. Wanted to see how much tougher the diver training was. Our CC was having no part of that. We had a company vs company physical test at the end. We beat em! I wasn’t gonna be a diver or seal…I was a freaking ET!

After hearing that I think my neighbors hate me now.....

Sections of fence down, chickens loose, dogs cowering, cats up trees, same tree bitten, sirens in the distance.....
