Even with Riley Leaving, It Could Be Worse

LSU has a 2nd QB transfer out of their program this offseason, leaving them with only 2 scholarship QB's on their roster..Even with Ferguson apparently leaving Knoxville, IMO UT at least has better security at the position than the Tigers..BTW, the QB leaving, Hayden Rettig, is Chase Rettig's younger brother who was a target for UT a few seasons ago before choosing to play for Boston College..I'm curious if anyone has heard if Hayden might be interested in UT as a transfer destination....

LSU reserve quarterback Hayden Rettig to transfer | NOLA.com

LSU just got a commitment from Franks (one of the best 2016 QB's). They will be fine. I personally don't want any left over corn dogs.

]Agree about the need to sign a stud[/B], but I think both Dobbs and Worley will be much better than last year. Both were in a brand new system with virtually no one to throw to. Now they both have starting experience under their belt in this system and a huge talent upgrade at the WR and TE positions.

We already have one. Going for two.

Totally agree about Dobbs and Worley. Expecting big improvement this year.

Ferguson is gone! Wish him well and move on. I suspect he saw his career at TN being one with lots of pine splinters in his butt. If he thought he was ever going to be a starter I believe he would have stayed. :loco:

Go Vols, pound the stone and run to victory!

If I am correct, Rettig had a red-headed, freckle-faced 4th cousin twice removed who took a dump at a PILOT in Bristol. Perhaps he can transfer in as our 5th string punter on the Hess Hall 7th floor flag football team.

My only problem with Ferg leaving is that he was basically the freshman QB in this class with his redshirt. Not taking a QB in a class is similar to a recent move of not taking O-linemen.

Malik Foreman can backup our backups! He stepped in when Dobyns-Bennett's quarterback got hurt and did one helluva good job. He had 7 touchdowns in one game, the guy is a baller.

CBJ needs to show improvement this year for the 3.3 million he is being paid. Most wire services rate him as one of the most overpaid coaches there is. Forget Ferguson!! The coaches are being paid to improve the team!! The accountability is with them!! I expect improvement this year over last year!

So many exclamation points, you must be really serious.

I too, have strong, opinionated feelings one way or another towards one, two, perhaps more members of our football team that may, or may not be, still be a scholarship member of it. And I too, will post about that person(s) in this forum for all of you fellow forum goers to see.

Fergie is probably a really good young man but I think the performance by Worley and Dobbs in the spring game scared the heck out of him. We will be fine at QB for years to come but it's the line on both sides of the ball that should be the concern here.

I have a thing to tell. A stunning, impossible thing you could say.
The LSU transfer isn’t coming here, but another transfer is. You
have never heard of him, but he’s an out of this world QB.

His name is Rajanal Xand’llari. He hails from Cygnus ‘ftlo,
the equatorial region of Gala’xzc. His world is larger than
ours by three times so the gravity is heavier. Thus his bone structure
and strength is about what Tombstone’s would be.

He will arrive June 28th. Word is he can score touchdowns by either standing
behind the line of scrimmage and waiting for a receiver to get open in the endzone
or walking to the endzone himself. After tackling him once, teams refuse to repeat the experience.

Is this from an old Buck Rogers episode?

Exactly which ones? CBJ is towards the bottom of the SEC in salary. You pay pretty much what the market demands.

Our recruiting has improved by leaps and bounds over the mess Dooley left here. It's unlikely that the staff makes significant improvement over the record last season given the youth and lack of time in S&C but don't let reality get in the way of your unrealistic expectations.

Oh well! The fact is Ferguson isn't the future either or anyway.....

He better sign a stud QB in '15 or his troubles may start to mount. We don't have an SEC caliber QB on the roster with or without Ferguson. If Ferguson wasn't a water head, he would be starting....
Does it begin to make sense to anyone yet, other than Ferguson being a waterhead, having never had taken a snap in front of a large crowd or played against an opposing collegiate defense of any kind, that he would have started over 3 QBs on the roster who had? <smh>
