I don't know that Va Tech was necessarily ranked lower than UAB, but they weren't in the preseason top 25 last year.

To compare college ball and pro ball, college doesnt have a preseason like the pros do. A time to evaluate and correct at full speed conditions. Have you seen a few of these games? These are professional athletes, that means other than their personal/family life they have nothing else more important than their work performance. Yet the 1st couple of preseason games they look pretty bad. The college kids have a whole day planned around acedemics and then when thats done then they can think football. Point is I think its absolutely amazing the college teams perform as well as they do game 1 given the circumstances. ost-20645-1119625378:

Well, I don't see how we didn't look like it yesterday. We beat an opponent that may very well win their conference with 8 offensive plays and 11 dropped passes as well as play from our "All world" QB that was "less than steller". We also held their offense until turnovers on our end of the field and soft play from a guy that shouldnt be in the defensive backfield (Wade), gave up the big play.

All that factored in, and STILL coming out with a win, tells me that this team is better than the sum of all it's parts, and THAT makes it a pretty damn good team.

I was way more impressed with the Syracuse win in 98 than I was with yesterday's win, but I'm not worried yet. There were some good things that happened, but that's the troulbe with hype, it's sometimes hard to live up to.

Yeah okay. Now you know my opinion and I know yours. I'm not going to argue if this team is NC caliber or not. 2 weeks from now will give us a better perspective I'm sure. Sorry if I have a hard time getting pumped about beating UAB by 7, but that's just how it is with me.

Now now, I never said that we weren't worthy. I just said that I was a bit disappointed in our showing. If we beat UF, I will happy the rest of the season regardless of who we beat or lose to after that......

That Syracuse team was a much better team than the team we played yesterday. UAB is a solid team but not nearly as good as we made them look yesterday.
