Everybody gets jobbed at Bama, but wondering some your more memorable lows you’ve seen?

My one that still bothers the living &$#@ out of me is our field goal attempt by Kiffin’s team which was blocked. A guy then known as Mountain Cody made the block and immediately took his helmet off on the field. Of course the zebras had concrete on their flags for Bama, no call was the result and we lost.

What should have occurred was a penalty should have been called, Mountain Cody would have had to sit out a play. We would had had the ball moved closer and perhaps made the field goal and won 5he game.


Mind you everybody gets jobbed by the officials when playing Bama, but I’ve seen some doozies through the years. Whatever are some ba calls/no calls have you seen during third Saturday in October games?

I can't recall but our WR's better carry shanks with them this Saturday. Every DB in the conference now knows that you can mug our WR's and pretty much get away with it.

I remember that as well. The ball was still moving - meaning the play was still live.

You’re never going to get that call, but you’re right that it was pretty ridiculous. It ended up having no affect on the play and I get why it was a no call, but I remember the helmet off and the Bama bench being on the field and thinking “Wait a minute. They’re not supposed to do that quite that quick”.

Except . . . it wasn't. If you watch the replay, Alabama falls on the ball and they immediately switch to a shot of Cody with no helmet. There's no way he didn't take it off before the recovery.

2015. We had just gone up 15-12 late in 4th qtr. Bama has it third and a mile and our DE gets tackled right in front of the ref. No call.

Siran Stacy still has not scored a touchdown on the run they gave him a touchdown on in Birmingham. He was way short, like a yard short of the goal line. Oh.......the days before replays. Alabubba was for sure opposed to the implementation of instant replays. Straight up and down obvious cheating by the refs that entire game.

What pissed me off more was how on the last drive it was obvious Kiffin was only playing for a field goal. He wasn't even trying for a TD. Given the fact Lincoln had one blocked already, I had a bad feeling about the chances of that field goal.

That was a painful game but even if they had flagged him for unsportsmanlike conduct it would be a dead ball penalty and only would've affected Bama on their ensuing offensive possession had the game had more time left. I was more upset that Kiffin didn't work to get closer knowing that Lincoln had an injured leg.

Edit: I see some saying that Cody took it off while the play was still live, but even so it was AFTER the field goal was blocked. I'm not sure of the rules in that situation but wouldn't it be like a block in the back after an INT? It occurred after the change of possession so I don't think that it would've given us a first down and re-kick.

My Cleveland browns would disagree. We lost a game like that.
