With Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi both being producers in the movie it might actually be decent.

Hail to the king baby! Man I love me some Ash. Looks like they are going straight horror. My love for these movies will make me go, they better not screw it up. Btw if you are a fan, and have a chance catch the musical. It is a boatload of fun, just make sure you get seats in the splatter zone. Oh and don't wear good clothes. :)

Not real interested in this one, but the trailer for "Prototype" has me interested.

this looks to be a pretty good year for movies

The originals were a hit because of Ash and his wise cracking.

If these are straight horror than they will lose everything special about the series and be nothing more than another horror flick.

Do you see anyone pulling off Ash like Bruce did though? He was born for that role. I'm more intrigued to see what Raimi can do with more resources as far as a horror movie. But I am greatly disappointed that there is no Bruce, dude was brilliant in that role. Hail to the king baby!

Edit: technically Evil Dead didn't have wise cracking Ash. They attempted straight horror the first time. Then they basically remade it with the humor aspect in part 2. Then went pretty much comedy in Army of Darkness. 2 is by far my favorite, the scene with the hand, the first time he puts the chainsaw on, the laughing and dancing with inanimate objects. Classic stuff.

Anyone ever notice Freddy Kruger's glove hanging in the shack in part 2. Its right above the door when Ash walks in.

And this movie should be fun. Just don't expect the awesomeness that was EvilDead/2/3.

Doh you guys are right. I went searching for it as a teenager with a couple of friends and my brother. The only thing we found was some Styrofoam glued to some trees to make them look bigger in the flick. The cabin had been long burnt down. 2 was in NC.

I feel so ashamed now. Sorry Bruce Campbell I failed you!!

I met Bruce at a convention when I was around 25, only time I've been star struck. He was really cool, a joking smartass in real life too.

Aren't one and two the same film? The first one being the art school film and the second the remake?

Pretty much. The second was just more campy. Every time I introduce someone to them they always ask, why is he going back to that cabin again.

My folks ran into him at a bookstore on Kingston Pike in Knoxville. They got a bunch of books signed from him. They said he was a really down to earth guy.

I own all 3 and just watched Army of Darkness on tv a few nights ago.

I haven't seen 1 and 2 in a few years and to be honest at my age they have kinda run together. Amry of Darkness is hilarious though...."this is my boom stick!"

Part two was filmed up at Panther National Park..I think is the name..near Morristown.

Book Of The Dead - The Definitive Evil Dead Website

Grew up about 15 miles from there. Partied there, weird as heck in a spooky kinda way. Watched the world premier in Morristown as well. Meet both Sam and Bruce....well calling and being young and possibly stoned seeing and shaking\slapping hands with the 2 who where becoming famous and choosing the same affliction a meeting. Fond memories...

Advice to all Morristown male residence take your girlfriends their. NOW. That place has the best ambiance.

1 and 2 are pretty easy to kinda fuse together. I've just seen them about 8,000 times, I always torture every girl I date with them. Lol Army of Darkness is funny as hell, lots of one liners, and Bruce at his best.

Thought I'd share a little something I drew of Ash. Yes I'm that much of an Evil Dead geek. :)

I appreciate the time spent and the effort but at first glance all I get it mule or donkey face. Was that intended?

I draw stuff in a caricature fashion, it exaggerates certain features. Hence the long nose and huge chin both things that he already has. I got tired of drawing "normal" and when I was in Cali, there was a street artist that drew this way. I liked the dramatic effect so I picked it up. I also draw the person and the backdrop separate, then glue the person to it. It gives a slight 3-d look to it. People either like that style or think it looks weird.

Edit: I draw a lot of horror stuff, so I also only do certain things in color.
