Ex-Tennessee recruit Kevin Ware commits to Central Florida

Coach Martin clearly wanted Richardson over Ware and I don't blame him. It would have taken 2 years for Ware to crack the rotation with serious minutes here. Now he will be going to school in Orlando in a weak conference that he will eventually be a starter in. He might not start this year but he will get some major pt. Hell maybe they will beat Memphis and win the conference.

I think Richardson will eventually be a substantial contributor. I'm not expecting much out of Washpun.

Have you personally watched Washpun in person?? Why don't you expect much from him? And why would CCM go after a kid if he didn't think he could contribute?

I really, really, really, really, really, hope Chris Jones qualifies this year. I honestly think the guy could squash any doubts about our tourney hopes next year. I have heard from numerous sources (online, I am not a guru with connections) that this guy kicked Joe Jackson's arse, on the reg in Memphis. He could be great. However, I am woried about the guy's grades. Damn, how hard is it just to qualify as an athelete? Somebody should slap the ****e out of dude's parents. UT would bend over backwards to get the guy in, but I don't know how likely it is that he will qualify. I really am pumped about Richardson, and I think that Ware is another one of Pearl's recruits that is an athelete, but not a baller. I love you Bruce, but I think you forgot to recruit players. You recruited a bunch of long; atheletic, guys that don't play ball. Honestly, last year, UT had 2 guys that could score. Now Tobias and Scotty are probably gone. Let's get back to recruiting those guys from KY that will not make an NBA roster, but will light up the Tommy Bowl. Go VOLS!!!!

Here is the evidence:

Ramar Smith- kicked off team- bust-then got busted

Daniel West-Bust

Marques Johnson- Bust

Cam Tatum- Knees- less than average player

Scotty Hopson- skills more suited for small forward

Bobby Maze- Average Point Guard
Melvin Goins- less than average point guard

McBee- less than average- not quick, tall, or consistant shooter

Trae Golden- too early to evaluate. Based on play as a freshmen. not a true point guard and not a good shooter. Not very quick, short. He can get better, very young.

Jordan McRae????? not enough playing time to evaluate.

Bobby Maze was better than average. We don't go to the final eight last year without his contributions. He flat out led this team down the stretch. I would take a point guard like him every single year

Bobby Maze wasn't even close to being better than average. There's a reason J.P. Prince had to become the primary ball handler, and it wasn't because Maze was tearing it up.

You are entitled to your opinion and I am mine. Like I said, I would take him every single year.

Ware was the better athlete between the 2 players, had the bigger upside, and now that he has landed at UCF... I'm fine with Richardson in his spot. I don't know why you try to turn everything you talk about into a pissing contest. You don't debate, you argue. You take a condescending tone whenever you disagree with someone, and guess what??? YOU STILL DON'T EVEN KNOW IF YOU ARE RIGHT!!! Only time will tell. If Richardson doesn't crack the lineup in the next couple years and Ware ends up starting and doing well year one, then will you concede? Of course not, you'll be arguing about what the next prospect might become...

The main reason I am cool with him landing at UCF is given the existing talent on the roster coupled with Michael Chandler in this class and having a good bench coach in Donnie Jones... UCF IMO should beat Memphis out for the favorite in CUSA. Not because of talent. Memphis obviously has a much deeper and stronger collection of talent, but because they have a coach that knows how to utilize that talent.

Be honest with yourselves guys. Richardson, Washpun, and Jones is one of the weaker classes we have had since Buzz's last season. Jones will be a great player for us and Washpun could be assigned as a defensive stopper on the perimeter. Richardson = Tatum IMO. Hopefully with better knees and if so, he could be a pretty solid player.

Lets let things run their course, and you can have your "I told you so thread" in 3-4 years depending on how things go...

Go Vols!!!

You almost had me agreeing with you until you said Jones is in the weaker class.Im not saying your not right about Washpun and Richardson but Jones is a stud period.

Pretty sure he was talking about the class as a whole being weak. Not Jones himself.

If you really would take Maze every year, you obviously aren't interested in quality point-guard play. Your opinion is terribly flawed.

Dont know about every year but I would have taken him last year for sure. IMO Maze was a pretty good point guard.

Most definitely this is what I was saying. Jones is the best PG we've had since CJ and would be even if Ramar wasn't a thug and had stayed 4 years.

Name me the last class we had that only had 1 top 100 player? I don't feel like doing the leg work, and honestly our web filter at work wouldn't let me even if I wanted to.
