It is in my humble opinion that you should probably stop watching football and stop posting here. But that's just me.

I guess it's a good thing that I don't give a $%&@ what you think, VolinArizona.

I guess I should be like all of the idiots on this board that worship at the feet of a redshirt freshman quarterback that has taken a handful of snaps in a football game in the past 2 years. I'm sure he'll have no problem whatsoever playing his first college game against one of the best defenses in the nation. Keep up the wishful thinking guys.

You guys are unbelievable. We have one of the top QB's in the nation, and many of you would love nothing more than to see him sidelined with an injury so you can see a totally unproven freshman play against LSU. Unbelievable!

423, dont let it get to you, VolinArizona has a way of bringing out the best in others, maybe it's his unflagging good cheer or his humble common courtesy, or it could be his respect for the opinions of others? who knows, we're all just glad he's on the side of the large orange

Smoke and mirrors by the UT coaching staff....Ainge will play the entire game......

I truly believe with all of my heart this is smoke and mirrors. And you have to believe that the LSU staff feels the same way and has planned for Ainge all week..Besides how could they prepare otherwise...there's really nothing to go on as far as Crompton is concerned

Easy with the sweeping generalizations of the opinions of VolNationals there fella. I think you'll find that just about every side of anything Volunteers is represented here...

How often has Fulmer engaged in this sort of "smoke and mirrors"? I just don't think it's his style.

Is he playing everyone, knowing he has a completely healthy QB? No, I don't think that's like him either.

The truth likely lies somewhere in the middle of what he has actually said...
"We still don't have any solid say exactly what we're going to do, but I'd say it certainly looks like he's going to play," Fulmer said of Ainge.

"Looks like he's going to play"...
Yeah, he's hedging, and I'm sure he wants to see how EA looks in warmups tomorrow.

Full blown smoke and mirrors? You're right, that's not like him...

just remember what the little girl in that DLP Bigscreen commercial tells us...

"it's in the mirrors..."

First time for everything though, so who knows? I'm going to assume that EA really is a gametime decision for now. If I see EA run for 20+ yards on a naked bootleg in UT's first offensive series then I will think it was smoke and mirrors.

I am nervous about Crompton playing much because there is a lot more involved in being a successful SEC QB than simply throwing the ball. You have to be able to read D's, know when to move up in the pocket and when to bolt. Throw it away or try to pick up a few yards and audibles. If he has to play then we should support him like we do all our players but our best bet to win this game is that Ainge plays and plays well.

PS: Smoke and Mirrors

If Crompton plays, I sure hope he is ready for all-out blitzes from the LSU defense. I would imagine they will put very heavy pressure on him until he proves he can handle it.

I know I posted that Crompton looked scared when he got put in last Saturday,I guess that's due to no playing time. How many of yall remember the first time Peyton came into a game?I know I was sitting there thinking,"get this zit faced kid off the field".Look at Peyton now,one of the if not best QB's in the NFL.Don't get me wrong I'm not saying Crompton is a Peyton but Peyton sure proved me wrong.

i don't believe anyone here wants it to come down to ainge not being able to play.

crompton, however, will be fine should he play. do you really think cutcliffe wouldn't have him ready for this game. if you really think ole cut can't handle it, then you, sir, are the idiot.

it's really a moot point as jamarcus russell is a lousy big game quarterback anyways.

GO VOLS!

...not to mention I've yet to see anyone come out and say, "I hope Ainge is sidelined with an injury so Crompton can play"...

All I have to say is this:

Our running game hasn't been there all year.

We are a passing team now.

Ainge has been a good passing QB this year.

Will Cut, will Cromp, will Fulmer be comfortable with Cromp having to pass the ball around 65% of the time?

Or do you think we would try to finally establish the run?

Not a very good scenario, no matter how good Cromp's potential is.

Jonathan is going to be an outstanding college QB but the LSU game isn't the ideal time to begin your career. However, I believe if he has to play he will do fine. I think this game is going to come down to the speciality teams play ala punt coverage/punt returns. Based on the last few games, Vols have opportunity to make big plays in these areas.

Lets get excited! We were 5-6 last year and had a comeback of a lifetime at LSU with Rick. Are you goin to tell me Rick is better than Cromp. BS. No Ainge, and it sucks, because of all the great things he has done for us this year. We are a little deeper than one QB, who are we MIAMI, FL State (NO) we are the Vols. We win @330pm Sat because Cromps goin to kick:shaking2: and LSU is goin to:worship: Dont tell me one ankle sprain makes us a losing team because if thats the way you feel :mf_surrender: now. I will be watching Crompton beat the hell out of LSU!!:shades:
