Is that set in stone? I almost feel like the line up should be...

PG Bobby Maze
SG Scotty Hopson
SF JP Prince
PF Tyler Smith
C Brian Williams
6th Wayne Chism

or

PG Bobby Maze
SG Scotty Hopson
SF Tyler Smith
PF Wayne Chism
C Brian Williams
6th JP Prince

I don't think you'll see a set lineup. One of the way Pearl can combat the malaise the team fell into at times last year is to mix things up. I think he'll do that.

I agree with this. They run an up tempo system so JP, Smith and Chism all on the floor at the same time makes sense. There are times where Brian Williams makes more sense because he is a bigger body that matches up better with some players than Chism. I personally like the idea of Chism being the 6th man because he can come off the bench as a center, power forward and even small forward if required. Not to mention he would be a legit player off the bench. When you're choosing from Williams, Tatum, Goins, Hall, Woolridge, Tabb etc.... not a lot of fire power to choose from. Chism would get his minutes off the bench and would present a scoring threat. I think Tyler and Scotty are enough threat shooting and with Prince they can all drive... I just like the idea of Chism off the bench personally. He would definitely get his minutes.

Sorry if this was a bit of a ramble or didn't make a whole lot of since. Not going to double check what I said or spelling. Had a couple. Will leave it at that. :p

1. Maze
2. Hopson
3. Prince
4. Smith
5. Chism

No way that Prince doesn't start. There is no comparison to Prince and Woolridge.

This is correct, and I am sure it is explained later by someone else to those who are just now showing up to look at basketball but Negedu is out for the season and almost certainly for his career.

Maze (Goins)
Hopson (Prince)
Tatum (Woolridge)
Smith (Hall)
Chism (Williams)

If Bruce goes with a 9-man rotation, I think that would take Hall out of the equation. Smith, Chism, and Williams would all rotate in the middle.

Goins likely won't need long to overtake Maze's starting job once Goins is healthy. It'll be interesting to see what role McBee will play on this year's squad, if any. UT will definitely be in need of a consistent 3-point threat.

I hope we don't see Prince at the shooting guard spot.

i agree with most all predictionson starting line up,but people why is everyone so down on woolridge his dad is an nba hall of fame member and if you compare their stats as a freshmen they are about the same orlando had horrid numbers as a freshmen at notre dame ,but they didnt wont to get rid of him and he improved alot ,to where he became an all american and then a great nba player just maby renaldo will improve like his dad did and he may become a great player at ut do you all just wish he sucks it up for 4 years and waste a scolership or maby he gets great ,another tennessee player had a not so great freshmen year then as a soph he improved and as a junior he was one of the high fly, long range shooter and great player marcus haslip ,he should have stayed for his senior season he probally would have had one of the best single seasons at ut compared to benard king and grunfield and dale ellis and allen houston, but you all dont want progress you want players like john snodgrass for those who cant remember him or was to young he was a 6,11 170 pound chattanooga boy i think who in my opion was the worst player we ever had

Prince is a 3, no doubt. He may play the 1 a few times when the personel on the floor dictates, but he can't play the 2 and hasn't, really, at UT. He's a slasher, always has been, always will be. He's had shoulder issues every off-season and hasn't been able to develop an outside shot, so I've given up on that. But, he is effective in certain roles and has been productive when he's been allowed to work the baseline in the offense.
