Ok guys this is how i see it. This year we have won the games we were expected to win and we have lost the games we were expected to lose but were in both games right down to the wire. This team has done so much this year what did we expect??? a NT i think not. Not after last year this year is to put us back on the map next year is for winning nothing less than a SEC title. We have a very young team and they will be very good next year i know vol fans we hate waiting till next year but when we have been dragged through the crapper the last 5 years it takes more than one year to get back to where we need to be.If we can keep Meach and other WR's step up and please GOD find some O-Linemen that can run block we will be fine on offense. IMO Ainge will be the best QB in the nation next year judging from what he has done this year.Defense is another story we lose almost all of our DB's so we need to get the younger guys some meaningful snaps this year. Depth on the D-line will be critical as it has been this year but Fisher and Bolden are very bright spots there.I personally think they will be beast's next year. Lb we will be fine. We have a lot to be proud of this year this time last year we were all crying in our beer about missing a bowl now we are bitching about going to the peach bowl???? Its gutcheck time for the VOLS and for us as fans as well. how many of you thought with our schedule we would be 7-2 right now? Lets just sit back and watch the birth of another Dynasty for UT football guys.

I agree with you 100%, but it still hurts losing. But I like to think very optimistically about it. We had a chance to see the emergence of Jonathan Crompton and man that kid can put up a fight when called upon(very exciting). So yes the loss does hurt but we have turned the corner and we will have earned our respect back in the national spotlight so GO VOLS

yes we do I just looked and sighed with relief that we don't play LSU or Auburn, no that I am scared of those guys it's just the fact. The SEC cannibalise's each other, even Tuberville was complaining about it.

I agree whole heartedly. When you glance at the roster the big thing that jumps out, and this is ALL that concerns me, is the departure of Smith and Swain, Stewart and Wade. If we can replace those guys with at least solid gameply and friggin' get physical on the offensive front, I see next year being a special year with all the young talent we still have and will definitely get with the renewed sense of respect among recruits. We HAVE to hang on to Meachem to have a deep threat and to 'open it up' for a guy like Taylor or Hancock to shine-as 3 will probably see a lot of double coverage. u da man 'defend.....':rock2:

Nice thought, but next year Florida will own the SEC East. UGA will be back and SC will be better.

you are :censored: right we will have something to say about that. I can't wait til we go to Gainesville and turn that place upside down. Tebow can only rely on his legs so long-then he eventually has to make decisions in the pocket. He will pretty much be a first time starter as his plays now are scripted to the T. Thanks for the avatar comment, taken the day after the bama game. GO BIG ORANGE!!!

Meach needs to go get paid. I hate to say it, but it's the truth. He will not be worth enough next year compared to this year to justify the risk of injury. I have a feeling that EA will not play against Arky. If Crompton starts that game and wins it there's going to be a full-on QB battle. We may have seen Ainge's last start on Sat. Not saying I want it that way, just that it could happen.

I don't see Ainge losing the starting spot.

I'd love to live under the illusion that Meachem will be back... but he's been out of hs for 4 yrs. I think he's gone. It just doesn't make any sense for him to come back.

I just hope he announces early enough so that Tolliver or some other big time recruit will come in to catch those spare passes.

We had such a round over who should start before the season that I hate to say it but... now I am plagued with "What if's". Ainge made me a believer with his performance all season. He's been extraordinary.

But how can you not be impressed with a guy who has a total of 4 passes in his college career then plays like he did against the number #1 defense in the country? He put up more points against that D than Leak or Cox who were supposedly the best QB's in the conference.

Unless something near miraculous happens, Crompton will get at least one more big start and maybe the rest of the season which will tell us what we need to know about him... but as I sit here... I wonder if he might have run for that critical first down against UF... and what his performance might have been like if he'd played more before LSU.

I don't either,he simply has done way way too much to get done in on a injury, I want a competion in the spring NOT during a season

I think most of the NegaVols were predicting 3-4 losses so we are ahead of where they thought we would be. i think Ainge will keep his spot after the Arkansas game but it will be a battle come the Spring. I afraid Meach will be gone and I can't blame him after what happened to Allen and Harrell. I won't miss Stewart, he is an interference call waiting to happen. Our lines should be much better next year and they will still be young. If I was a RB I wouldn't be afraid to come in and compete, Coker is the Man but he could use some help running not dancing. Go Vols! :hi:

There you go. Mr. "Realist".

UF will lose at least 3 of their front 4 and maybe Moss too. They'll lose one LB and maybe Siler as well.

They lose two of their starting 4 DB's.

Their defense will be rebuilding.

On offense, they lose their top 3 WR's (the only ones over 300 yards receiving). They lose Leak and the only run game they've had outside of Tebow- Wynn.

UF hasn't been impressive offensively this year. They won't be much better next year and Tebow has no back up after taking all the punishment he'll see. More critically, their defense won't be nearly as good.

UGA will rebuild and be back in the mix if they make some coaching changes. USC will continue to improve but still won't have UT's talent... or Syvelle Newton.

I can't fathom how someone as "realistic" as you are can enjoy pulling for a team they have almost complete disdain for... unless you are an impostor.

But they'll finally be running Urban offense. :whistling:

That is the smartest thing you have said all day Billy.
