Exlain what these coaching positions do please

1. Associate Head Coach
2. Assistant Head Coach

It's an extra title to go along with there position/coordinator role to add flexibility of added pay to help retain the coach, no one has just an associate head coach only, he is always coaching positions, and as someone pointed out that is who will run the team, usually, but not always, this title is for salary purposes and a way to commend coaches for doing well, you may have a WR coach that is your best all out recruiter, and you tab him your AHC to give you flexibility in paying him a higher salary for doing a great job.

It called "onion management". When the brown stuff hits the fan, you "peel" off the outer layers of the onion (Assistant HC, Off Cord, etc.) so as not to have to cut too deeply - that being the head coach. Companies do it all the time.
