I didn't realize we were comparing resumes, all you said was you shouldn't be rebuilding in year 4....is that not what you said?
Purdue was 15-17 this season,Purdue doesn't tolerate that sh ite. Another season of this and they will be looking for a new Head Coach.
and year 4 is different than year 5 especially considering what Cal did at UK.
So yes when u make comments such as yours as some kind of retort then yes compare resumes. You were be argumentative as is your way when you get stopped in your tracks.
Well like I've maintained, I don't think it's a rebuilding year in the assumed meaning of 10-20 type of season. It may not be as good as this year, but it'll be hard to match UTs first ever final four run![]()
I think a lot depends on the support he gets from Hart. If Hart gives him a 3 year extension and raises him to $2m a year, this may become a place he really wants to be. Would you want to work for someone who didn't appreciate your work though?
I'm sure he would like to coach Purdue, but there's no guarantee that jobs comes open anytime soon or that he would leave for there. On the flipside if Hart says I'll give you a 2 year extension and no raise, I could see him preferring just about any job.
when did the Vols make the final four???
Oh wait I guess that's a prediction....
and I never said 10 and 20 for next season more like .500 season.
But again as he has said he will have "all his own players".
he should not have to rebuild in yr 4.....but thats beside the point - he is going to get year 4.....
I'm not buying the lack of talent thing; we'll be young but not untalented. We basically have three top 150 guys coming in, in Cofer, Austin and Cornish (who has dropped out as of now). That coupled with Hubbs, Richardson and Thompson gives us six top 150 recruits on the roster. We could be thin at quality big men depending on how Davis and Pops develop. We'll have growing pains, no way we won't be talented though. We should still have the 3rd-4th best roster in the SEC, behind UF, UK and possibly Bama.
Cornish's play will depend on his ability to keep his cool. A good friend of mine is an asst coach at Brother Martin and he and I caught up last week when I was in NOLA, and he we talked extensively about Jordan. He said he has trouble tuning out the crowd and has gotten into verbal confrontations with opposing fans because he hears everything. My friend attended Miss St so he's familiar with the SEC and has warned Cornish of what he'll he face when in Rupp or the O'Dome. When he's on he's unstoppable on the high school level, when you're in his head his whole game suffers, which happens too easily apparently. He'll learn to play defense as well or he'll sit because apparently he plays little to none.
That's slightly above .500 and what I think is a very fair prediction of next years record.
So would 17-14 qualify as a rebuilding year?
I did not bring up the rebuilding garbage someone else within this thread brought it up (zaqhhh).
That being said I dont believe that 17-14 is good enough. That would mean 1 NCAAT in 4 years - UT should do better than that, much better. Guess you are ok with that though. :good!:
Next season may quickly use up the good will than CCM has built up so far in the NCAA's. I think a green as grass UT team in 2014-2015 could win 12-14 games. People will really be calling for CCM's head come Jan-Mar 2015.
