So it’s sacrilegious if opposing programs fake injuries but genius if Coach Heup does it?
I'll trade a good rule about fake injuries during regular play for a rule to prevent this relatively minor delay.

Not entirely sure how much is gained. They usually go to a commercial and are ready for a kickoff by the time they go back to the game.

To be fair, I don't recall anyone here complaining about fake injuries when the (suspected) fake injuries didn't impede the rhthym of the offense and create opportunities for changing out personnel in situations when it wouldn't otherwise be allowed.

Since it's not disrupting the flow of the game, I doubt it will get much attention because there is always a TV timeout after the PAT. Against Clemson, I did notice the player was still on the field after the TV timeout on a couple of them. Instead of the normal 2 minutes dead ball TO, we make it about 4. Announcers didn't make a big deal and talked about something else, and that is the way TN would want it to be. IMO

And who is to say that the injuries aren’t real. And like someone said they go to commercial after touchdowns so it’s not like your really gaining a advantage. It is crazy though how many times we had injuries after extra points. There were a few times they limped off as well so that makes me think most are legit. Thinking about it Ollie Lane has went down more than probably anyone on extra points so maybe it is more something to do with him. Who the heck knows.😆

I'm surprised that people are surprised. It's happened with such embarrassing frequency that I was sure someone in the league office would have gotten involved. As others have noticed, it seemed to always be Jackson Lampley's job. What I've been trying to figure out is what is the criteria for them to execute this. It seems if the defense was on the field for more than 5 minutes, then the offense come back and gets a quick touchdown (less than 1:30 taken off the clock), then they pull out this "package". It seems like the networks add an extra-long commercial break when there is an injury during the extra point.

During the Orange Bowl, CJH actually came on the field to show his "concern". That was the first time I had seen that (although, to be honest, he may have done so previously during the extended commercial break).

Actually it's a win for everyone involved. The opposing team's offense gets a few more minutes to make adjustments, our defense gets the same, plus a few extra minutes to get rest. The network gets a chance to sell more stuff.
