In my book...

Facebook = creepy...

I agree. I follow recruiting in a major way, but I don't even care to talk to recruits. I follow the school, and not the kids. I want every commit to accomplish greatness at UT though of course.

Eventually you'll have people creating accounts pretending to be fans of other teams. The recruits are going to have to learn to ignore it or simply don't add people you don't know irl.

I thought it was common knowledge that he had decommitted since diaz was leaving and was probably Ole Miss. He wanted to be part of the dandy dozen in MS and they all are pretty much going to Ole Miss. I think the story has some slight merit, but the facebook thing provided him with a nice reason to do what he was already going to do.

With all that said, I'm really against friending recruits on facebook and twitter. I don't see how anything very positive can happen out of it.

Its been gone over before, and grown men friending kids is definately a half bubble off plum, but the kids don't need to accept requests either.

im not friends with him, but do remember reading Darick Rogers FB page last year, and grown men were flaming him for picking the vols. They were wishing injury on him I clicked on one guys profile who was the worst he had wife, kids, seemed to be well off. But angry enough at a 17 yo to wish him a career ending injury when they play GA. Just to be fair sure there are vols fans who would do the same.

Ironically, you can't see any messages people say when you block them. However, references still pop up. For example it says 5 people "liked" something, you look to see who, if one of them has you blocked or you have them blocked it will only show 4. Bit of a GitS

Yes. If you block them they can't even see your page at all, or message you until you unblock them.

exactly. . all the guy had to do was keep his facebook page private or ignore the guys request. You can't blame facebook on this... yes, maybe it is inappropriate for fans to contact recruits using these methods.. but it's the kids choice to use the social media. If you put your information on the net ..... it's there for everyone else to freely view, use.
