I always thought Bin Ladin was in Iran, mainly after stories like this in 2002

Bin Laden fled to Iran, cook says | csmonitor.com

for one, the U.S. will never acknowledge they think he is there, because it will precipitate war in Iran, which the U.S. doesnt have troops for.

2nd, it explained the icey relations with Iran since 02. Iran really is working on WMD's and could have Bin Ladin to boot.

Third its also explains the reason the U.S.is having zero luck finding Bin Ladin. They can't look in Iran for him.

why? you don't really buy the whole Iraq had no terrorist links garbage, do you?

I don't think Saddam supported terrorism. In fact, reports are he enjoyed killing terrorists. But don't let the facts get in the way. Besides, the only terrorists I really care about are the ones apparently responsible for 9/11.

Quite frankly, I'm surprised Bush hasn't tried to already place the foundations of Al-Qaeda in Iraq...oh wait..

Seriously...I yield to you on most matters Iraq...but that would blow my mind.

Wherever he is at this moment, he will not be in 6 weeks. He moves around a lot more often then people believe. His group has been hurt by Iraq and at times crippled but he still posses a lot of wealth and a staunch group of supporters who will do whatever it takes to launch another attack. Some believe Osama is on his last legs and his group is crippled to the point of being non-existant....I couldn't disagree more.

Pakistan is frequently dismissed as an Osama hold but I have seen too much that disagrees with that assessment. The theory going against Pakistan (now of course there are MANY and many of THOSE have great reasons but one I hear constantly) is that their borders are full of snitches who would fall on Osama if given enough of a bribe but don't under-estimate the loyalty of some of Osama's men. I also refuse to trust any part of Pakistan's government.

Iraq is obviously not a place one would think he is hiding out but you do not hide this long from the United States when we are on your tail without being incredibly smart, efficient, and surprising. Many Iraqi's still look at Osama as an iconic figure that they would die for....
