Fair to say Georgia fans more cocky then most?

Trash program. Bama attitude and Vandy trophy case. Most passive aggressively, whiny, needy fanbase in sports. Heck, look on this board. With one or two exceptions, the uga trolls in here are just annoying little &$#@s.

I know you are a Tennessee fan at heart, but brother I hope you are drawing a paycheck for all the uga water you tote for them.
I got in an argument in the Carnell Tate thread about something like this involving Ohio State about 6 months ago, I just think saying teams don't have good history when they do makes us look insecure. Our history and tradition don't take a back seat to anyone but it doesn't diminish us at all to acknowledge other teams also have a good history. I've always been very interested not only in Vol history but the history of the sport in general. It's just a pet peeve of mine. GBO!

So by percentage we’ve played Alabama 45.8% more than they have! ;) so if you’re bored you can take those 33 games and rerun Georgia’s numbers Then add back into their total statistics and see what it looks like. Excuse me I have a football game to focus on 😂 GBO

We've played them 33 times more than they have and have 13 more wins against Alabama than they do (our all-time record against Bama is 39-58-7, UGA's is 26-42-4), so if UGA played 33 more times against Bama and stuck to their historical winning percentage against Bama, they'd have 12.6 more wins against Bama than they do. So 38.6 wins total to our 39. Like I said, our programs are generally comparable. It doesn't diminish Tennessee to acknowledge other teams have history too.

If you want to know anything about UGA fans just go to their 247 page (junkyard) or SDS ….their fans claim that we won’t even score a point in them. Even though offensive powerhouse Kent st put 22 on them.

Now they are chiming in that they held their FCS team to 33-0 and we allowed a 65-24 score.

I absolutely despise them and their arrogant fan base!!!

There's a bit more to them than that, they have the 4th most wins in college football since the SEC was founded in 1933.
I was alive for a good deal of those years. We stomped their asses all over their dumb hedges most years. Then when we fell off they spent a decade wasting all the talent in the world til they finally won one.

Mmm yaaaaaaa, interesting I’m gonna need you to check that TPS report again on those percentages? I came up with a two game difference.

That's ridiculous. Like Bama, they now have a bunch of sidewalk fans who are front runners. I've found over the years that people that went to a school OR who are otherwise committed long time fans (who are loyal, win or lose) tend to be talk less trash. That's true of most schools and definitely true of UGA. Now that we are good again we will attract some of these obnoxious frontrunner type fans again. The last 15 years had thinned them out. Price of success I guess, which I am glad to pay.

Man I live here, close to Athens, and know many people who went to UGA, and they're worse than the bandwagon fans. Loudmouth, big mouth punks, 90 percent, especially worse after last year. Ain't nobody in the universe on their level, or can beat them. Come down and talk football with the ones who live here. They'll let you know real fast how great they are, and anybody else is trash.

Okay, so this is what I did. I went to Winsipedia and looked at their winning percentage versus Bama which .389
Screenshot_20221022-160739-225.png

Since we don't have ties anymore and we are talking about adding 33 games versus Bama to UGA, I used their straight up win percentage (not counting ties) versus Bama, which is actually LOWER than the Winsipedia number 26/68 = .382.

I then multiplied .382 x 33 = so you would come up with 12.606 more wins for UGA versus Bama.

26 + 12.606 = 38.606 (which I rounded down to 38.6) to our 39.

That makes sense because the ones who never left Athens would probably tend to be the most brainwashed. I have known alot of UGA alums from Atlanta. Two of them I've practiced law with for 20 years. My experience with them are that they are not as bad as the dudes who had Florida State flags 10 years ago and now have UGA flags.

They might be better from Atlanta, but the ones around here are full of crap 🤣

I’ve always felt like they’ve been really insecure about their program. Lots and lots of wins but nothing to show for it for so long. Now they’ve won and honestly they’re just doing what we all know what we are going to do once we win a championship lol

All of the above good for a laugh.

Looking forward to neutering uga!

I hear ya, but frankly you defend uga against any slight with a gusto I would normally expect from a fan. It’s a Tennessee board, brother, and hyperbole is the norm, as it is on any fan board. If I attack uga on my own board, I don’t really want or expect a Tennessee fan to swing into action to take up the honor of uga.

Your posts in general are excellent, and we share a healthy skepticism but hope for the Vols. But in this one area, the uga defense gets a bit annoying. Just sayin’

I know alot about them, probably more than any other SEC team. Like I said I have two long term law partners who are UGA alums-fans. We've always talked football. I'm always glad to talk about their weaknesses too. For one thing, that defense ain't what it was last year. I'd be really worried if we were playing their defense from last year, which was full of cyborgs but this group while good is not something I fear greatly. They just haven't run into anybody that can stress them. We can. Bama can. We are going to score some points. Question is can we stop them more than they stop us? I don't know. I think beat them in Neyland, probably on a neutral field as well, but it's critical down there that we start fast and take that crowd out of the game. I suspect they are going to try to control the ball and limit our possessions. If they keep it close, we've seen what a home crowd can do.

ask Bill Bates how he ran the ball.
That was the very first time I went to a UT game at Neyland with my VFL wife. I'll never forget UT fumble...thnk it was on or near UGA's 5 yard line with time running out if my memory is not failing me. If I'm right that's what lost that game.

History is nice to have but it has to be recent.

Minnesota has 3-4 National Titles but no one remembers that.

Tennessee's best run was Neyland. We were BY FAR the most dominate SEC program from 1933-1951. It wasn't close. Since 1951, we have had major spurts of success but nothing as sustained as Neyland. Nothing like the Bear Bryant or Saban runs at Alabama.

Neyland also lived so far back that we probably don't get as much credit as we deserve for National Titles, etc.

We had a great run in the late Johnny Majors and Phillip Fulmer era but even during that run we had a losing record to Florida and only won 5 Conference Titles (85, 89, 90, 97, and 98) and 1 National Title. Compare that to Alabama's run right now or Georgia with Mark Richt and Kirby Smart and we really are not that strong.

The fact is we went 15 years in the desert and most people remember that now about Tennessee football and not the successes of the past. Let's just focus on what Heupel is building and not worry about the past because the recent past is NOT good for Tennessee.
