Fair to say we laid an egg?

Yes they did, so what, that's sports. You regroup and come back better. Doesn't mean they are now a bad team.

I think Georgia did much more to win the game than we did to lose it. They were just the better team in all phases of the game. Bennett had all day to throw and give their their guys time to get open. I don’t recall seeing him on the ground from taking a hit. Hooker had two or three bad balls that could have gone for big plays, but in the second half especially, he had no time for plays to develop and guys to get open. Georgia’s defense just smothered them all night. A loss always sucks, but I’m glad the score wasn’t worse than it was in case things work out and we have a shot at the CFP. I’m proud of all they have accomplished this season, regardless. Hopefully they take out their frustrations on Mizzou next week!
We'll get 'em next year though.

As ugly and complete as the beat down was, TN was in it at 4:00 to go. VOLS could not get it done today. Seems there were 2 eggs laid tonight.

I still love those VOLS and I'm ready for the bounce back next week.

Yes. But I wish people would look more at the big picture.

If every team was judged by its worst week (against the best team in their stadium no less) then it would be a sad world, I am still proud of this team and fairly confident of a CFP appearance (tho yes UGA should be the overwhelming Natty favorite)

Yep.

Offense wilted under the pressure.

I put most of the blame on the o line specifically.

Too many unforced penalties, allowed too much pressure on Hooker, and never really opened holes in the running game. Also struggled badly in every short yardage situation.

Outside of the first quarter on defense, that side of ball did their part today.
Offense stunk it up however and you have to give UGA credit for some of that.

We have played two bad games this year. This one and Pitt.

It’s just that Georgia is a much better team than Pitt and we could not recover.

It happens and I don’t say that to take anything away from Georgia.

Smart schooled JH day. Took away our deep ball threat. We tried no screens to slow the pass rush down. GA was all over HH. Why not try a 2 TE set for runs and protection?
We did nothing to bring their DBs up to defend the run. 10 or 15 yard slants?

Taking away the deep-ball threat is one thing--I would have expected them to do that. But that should open up the field for 10-20 yard throws, but we were not throwing or completing them either. Hooker spent the first half throwing 5 yard passes when we needed 10 yards. I did not recognize the team. He did not play a smart game today. You can't throw 5/6-yard passes when you need 10/12--and we did that more than a few times. Dumb.

Of course we were in a lot of 2nd/3rd and long situations as well.

I felt like a few qb designed runs would've helped us open up the offense some... just a my 2 cents

This is stupid. We just got beat by a team that played better. Tennessee is a great team. We aren’t 8-1 with wins over LSU and Bama by accident
