Fans should pick "Wildcard" 13th Driver for Chase

NASCAR and the PGA Tour are trying to figure out how to be the NFL and the sports with their long schedules just don't lend themselves to that.

i read just last week that TV ratings are up compared to pre-FedEx Cup for the PGA. the Tour Championship has been elevated because of the playoffs.

really there's two ways to do the Chase.

one is to do it like NASCAR right now.

the other is to figure out a way to do it like the PGA Tour, and eliminate drivers after the each of the X number of races. the final 25, 20, 15, whatever all have a shot to win the Cup. at the season finally, in Daytona.

then they could give Darlington the July 4th Firecracker date and almost make up for taking the Labor Day date. and some other track could that nobody gives a damn about like Loudoun could have the Mother's Day weekend date.
