FX's Emmy Award-winning Fargo continues to impress with the announcement that Ewan McGregor has been signed to join the show in not one, but two roles. Said to be the focus of the third season of the show, which is supposed to take place closer to the present than either of the two preceding years did, the actor has been cast as brothers Emit and Ray Stussey.
The only challenger to GoT's superiority among currently running shows, IMO.
Do i need to have watched previous seasons to know what's going on with this season? Ewan Mcgregor is one of my favorite actors and the commercials have me intrigued.
No. Not that I know of. That being said, after watching the season 2 premier, I would have said "no" to this same question as well, but later in the season there was a very cool nod to the cast of season 1 that you would not get unless you had seen it.
So you're safe, but really you should watch the entire series. I think it's my favorite non-premium channel show.
I loved the camera perspective of the AC falling through the air.
I can already see several Emmy/Golden Globe noms again this season. McGregor will probably get one, and David Thewlis is straight up creepy.
