All of those things. You can see it, too, from general competitiveness increases. Kids are staying home more often to play for the state school. You see different teams in the weekly rankings and there are more upsets and movement than in years past.

I'm sure there's been official research. Just never looked.

Right...doesn't seem anyone can ever find it.

Pretty hard to make a serious argument for "parity" when the same damn team has won the championship the last four seasons (and counting)....

This... parity surely hasn't caught up to UConn. If anything they are more dominant. Tennessee was once a dominant team that was feared but no longer. If UConn was having similar seasons to us no one would be questioning the direction of the program, but Tennessee has too many weapons to be losing to the Alabamas of the world like last year. Something is missing and if fans think that the landing the #1 class (which should be lauded), is going to stop the decline they are probably going to be sorely disappointed.

Why aren't there more UT Lady modern day variety of plays for protection of shooters beyond the arc?
Where are beyond the arc plays including group rebounding on missed shots or rapid defense on made shots? UT's longest shots have little screening effort.
In looking at old film UT lady basketball has commonly wasted their great outside shooters by making the long
shot a scrambling effort or a long pass effort often barely
giving the shooter time to set. It is well known that two fold effort including outside shooting opens up the inside. Taking a great outside shooter out of a game after missing an outside shot is self defeating when the opposition has the middle so continually stopped up that even "crip" shots are regularly missed and rebounding
extremely difficult.

At least now the talent is spread out more evenly with the top teams. The difference is the UCONN coaching among other things. Every team that faces UCONN is down at least 10 or more from the start due to coaching and the ability to make changes during the game. It is up to the other teams to step up the coaching.

People say the talent is spread out more evenly...in what way? And when did said "parity" begin? Teams like USC, Auburn, La Tech, Texas, etc., were loaded back then and teams are loaded now. Teams like Texas Tech, OSU and UNC got stars and burst onto the scene. It just doesn't look like the landscape has changed much. Many people who claim parity use it as a excuse for UT's failures.

What does parity even mean? Does it mean more teams are competitive than before? That there are more talented players? The same teams make the FF each year. The same team has won four years in a row during a reign when most games were not competitive. The sad thing is that UConn dynasty doesnt have many classic games due to a lack of parity. Interesting.
