Pale Rider is noticeably absent from these lists.

Josey Wales gets my vote for the top spot.

I am sure I am in the minority, but I really didn't care for Unforgiven.

He was the same character in Gran Torino as he was in Million Dollar Baby. And he was the only one in Gran Torino who could act.

He is the same character in every movie--the grizzled old cowboy/trainer/ss agent/barenuckle fighter/soldier/cop.

Was reading about that the other day and he wanted racial authenticity at the expense of acting experience so most of the other people in the movie are first timer actors. Heard some of the scenes with Clint and one other actor are just painful, he's so good and they are so bad.

Yep. It might not be as obvious that they are bad, if he wasn't so good. There were some really funny lines though, delivered by one of the bad actors, lol. Comedy is his thing for sure, not drama.

Where Eagles Dare is another of my favorites though it isn't in my Top 5.
Fabulous, but Richard Burton was the guy in that one.

Josey
Pale Rider
Heartbreak Ridge (for those of you who don't habla)
Every Which Way but Loose
Dirty Harry (take your pick, but Sudden Impact was solid).

Well I just might have a Eastwood night.

no way in hell I'm watching all these though. Unless the others are 10x better than Gran Torino.

it's damn near unamerican for a 20 year old American male not to have seen some of Eastwood's finest.
