No mention of Chris Rock??? Come on. The original HBO special is a classic.

"I'm not sayin' OJ shoulda killed her. . . . . . BUT I UNDERSTAND?"

I thought Hedberg was incredible. In between crying from laughing so hard, I always wonder: "Wow. How did he think that up?"

Yep, forgot about Chris. Another good one.

Richard Pryor back when he was touring with his standup stuff was priceless.
The original "excuuuuse me!" tour of Steve Martin.
And if you've never seen a Redd Fox show, you've truly missed out.

A Few Hedberg Quotes:

I have a cheese-shredder at home, which is its positive name. They don't call it by its negative name, which is sponge-ruiner. Because I wanted to clean it, and now I have little bits of sponge that would melt easily over tortilla chips...

I had a stick of Carefree gum, but it didn't work. I felt pretty good while I was blowing that bubble, but as soon as the gum lost its flavor, I was back to pondering my mortality.

I think foosball is a combination of soccer and shish kabobs.

Last week I helped my friend stay put. It's a lot easier than helping someone move. I just went over to his house and made sure that he did not start to load s**t into a truck.

How about the bit about getting a receipt for a donut...

"I don't see the need to bring ink and paper into this"

"I can't imagine when I'd have to prove I bought a donut." "Don't even think I didn't buy that donut, I have the documentation right here"

A word to the wise ain't necessary - it's the stupid ones that need the advice.

If the new American father feels bewildered and even defeated, let him take comfort from the fact that whatever he does in any fathering situation has a fifty percent chance of being right.

Let us now set forth one of the fundamental truths about marriage: the wife is in charge.

Like everyone else who makes the mistake of getting older, I begin each day with coffee and obituaries.

My eleven year old daughter mopes around the house all day waiting for her breasts to grow.

That married couples can live together day after day is a miracle the Vatican has overlooked.

There is hope for the future because God has a sense of humor and we are funny to God.

I do not apologize for finding that funny. In my opinion, it takes a lot more talent to get people to laugh without having to shock them with profanity.

ron white--his delivery is so matter of fact.....i'd like to hang out a bar with the guy.
gafagin...that hot pockets thing had me on the floor the first time i saw it.
Chapelle
Frank Caliendo....his impressions are hands down some of hte best i've ever heard....he's hilarious, as an impressionist.
Chris Rock
Eddie Izzard...the guy from England....the self proclaimed "executive transvestite". I admit, when i first saw him, i was thinking this guy is a loon. but after watching the entire show, he was freakin' hilarious.

If you can look past the fact that he's a tranny, Izzard has some of the most brilliant comedy I've ever seen.

Have you seen that bit where he tells a joke, then while he's setting up the next one, he gives that look that says "not really." But then he gives a serious nod with wide eyes. Then he keeps going back and forth. It doesn't sound funny, but if you see what I'm talking about, you will be on the floor.

Cosby MUST be in the top-5, all time. His hilarious observations about regular life are classic. And, the earlier poster is right: he didn't require shock and profanity to bring you to tears.

The Dentist routine is, quite possibly, the funniest three or four minutes you will ever experience.
