Bobby Majors was a great one.

I think he still holds the UT record for pics in a season, so he's got to be near the top. Plus, he was a great kick returner.

He was before my time as a player, but Tim Priest had a very nice career. He's also one of the good guys in the legal profession.

Tim had a great career. He holds the all-time career record for interceptions with 18.

Majors holds the record for a season with 10.

the best FS was Dale Carter, the best corner was Allen, but the two guys that got the most of what God gave them were JJ McKlesky and Bill Bates, oh I forgot about Chris White from 85 wasn't that his name?

Also Eddie Brown, a white guy who played in the early 70's was as tough as a nail and played for the Redskins for a long time. He played one game against Clemson with a broken jaw and most of his front teeth knocked out.
Didn't he lose his teeth blocking a fg?

Terry Fair and Deon Grant are my personnal favorites. They always stepped up when the game was on the line.

Deon Grants interception against Florida in the 98 game was a thing of beauty.

Terry Fair always gave Tim Couch fits. It was like Terry knew where Tim was going to throw the ball before he did.

Still played in the NFL, even if it was the Cardinals.

...and the Saints I believe. He was 100% heart, one of my favorite players.

But as far as the BEST, my votes are for Dale Carter and Deon Grant.

yeah, Gibril came on late in his tenure at UT didn't he......

JJ was always a favorite of mine....but i can't argue with Dale Carter or Deon Grant. Terry fair is up there too.

Gibril was a JUCO transfer, I believe. When he got here, we already had Julian Battle to fill the SS spot.

Battle certainly wasn't the best, but he could tackle.
