Favorite Recruit of this Cycle?

1) Warren- Prototypical OT. Very sought after recruit and we won. First round potential

2) Satterwhite- Most underrated recruit. I’d be stunned if he isn’t a multi year starter here.

3) Ross- Physically he is elite. Production senior year matched the physical gifts. Big time player

4) Ginther- If he was in Texas or Georgia, he’d be a high 4 star. Very few freshman can compete on the OL in the SEC, I wouldn’t be stunned to see this kid get some snaps.

5) Beasley- Admittedly I didn’t think he gave great effort always as a Sr, however he’s one of top CB’s in country.

For me, 4 standout in particular that were enjoyable and I’m most excited and ready to be on the team.

1. Boo Carter - Feel like this kid is gonna be a Vol Legend when it’s all said and done, just has that IT factor to make plays no matter where he is.

2. Bennett Warren - Exemplified a model recruit, even battling back against any fan or player trying to recruit him away.

3. Mike Matthews - No surprise here, might be the best ball player from this class. Expect big things from him pretty quick on campus.

4. Jake Merklinger - committed early, never wavered, destroyed his league in HS all year. Model QB recruit for fans on how we expect our QBs to come in.

I could go on and on about a lot of these guys, but I think these 4 are probably my favorite recruits this cycle.

We’ve got a lot of room for talent. Some of that stems from us having the 8th ranked class in the conference. Just surprising to me that UF is killing it despite having a struggling squad and a coach on the hot seat.

With all the NIL deals etc… not as easy for kids to jump ship after committing in HS. Most of this UF class will be in the portal next year when coach gets fired.

Obviously you have to be really excited for the two 5 stars, but outside of them im really excited for Warren, he seems really bought in already just based off his social media and I think he will be starting in 2025

No disputing the $$. The stigma of being fired is probably harder on some family members for the potential social ramifications

The TE transfer from Notre Dame.

I'm reluctant to get too fired up about hs signee's anymore until they make it to year two without leaving.

Sure is nice to have a 5 star WR committed though.

Polynesian Bowl - Jan 19th @ 9PM EST - will have a handful of commits on roster. Jake Merklinger (QB), Mike Matthews (WR), Bennett Warren (OT), Jonathan Echols (TE) & Edwin Spillman (LB).

Will be interesting to see Merk. He's not faced any real competition in HS so this is our first good look at him.

Merklinger will push Iamaleava in the quarterback room.
