Pocono, Darlington, and the road courses are always fun to watch. They're extremely unique and hard to drive. I think it would be a disgrace to drop Martinsville. Posted via VolNation Mobile
No, but I would for either Rockingham or North Wilkesboro providing an upgrade in facilities and seating. This would be 1 race dropped. Posted via VolNation Mobile
the problem with places like the North Wilkesboros or Rockinghams isn't just a facilities problem. it's everything associated with a hosting a race. a lot of these towns simply can't handle the type event or don't have the infrastructure in place to host the people and traffic; be it hotels, interstates, or track facilities. there's WAY more that has to go into a race than just a state of the art track. these areas simply didn't have the cash needed to to grow with the sport. it's sad yes, but it's also simple economics. it is what it is.
funny how the people who wanted the sport to grow now wish they could have the old days back.
My favorite track is Darlington, challenges like Bristol with speed to boot. Martinsville is my least favorite, but there should not be a decrease in short track races. North Wilkesboro is a crappy track and facility that was unable to keep up with the times. I would take a race from New Hampshire and give a race back to Darlington.
I'd probably go with Bristol since they reconfigured the corners. Enjoy the road courses, and would even more if NASCAR had a damn clue how to run them. For example, there's no need for a full freaking course yellow if Dick Trickle runs wide and kicks up some dirt.
