That's what I have been saying,Ainge is just not the same kid we saw before he took the big lick in the ND game.I know this kid must have gotten hit a few times in his highschool career(maybe not at a college level)but ya got shake them kind of things off or you will never be productive if your always wondering where that next hit is coming from.

His footwork is also deplorable. That is a coachable problem, and someone needs to step up and teach him how to set and throw.

Ainge good not hit a broad side of a barn right now i dont care how much zip it has on it if you cant get it to the recievers than they cant catch it!!!!!!!!  Now im not saying our receviers sont need work im just saying It wouldnt matter if anige had a arm like clausens he still wouldnt be able to do what rick is doing!!

that is not what we were talking about. I was responding to aquestion or point that EA was throwing to hard. The thread was not about Rick vs EA it was about if EA has fear of being hit.
Go ahead and give up on this kid if you want. I will remind all of you later when you are singing his praise. Rick is the starter and should be. But EA is far from being done. And I for one as a VOL fan am ashamed that some of our fans are jumping on one of our players who is struggling right now.

TO be honest with you, coaching or how they handled this situation is the biggest problem IMO. One of them should have been named starter in spring. Then if needed the other could have come off of the bench. Coaches have more of an impact on a players psyche than any hit could ever have.

Yeah, what he said.

I think that they have given him too much too soon.

I don't know about that. Or I am not saying who should have been named the starter in spring. But one of them should have and the other should have known they were the back up. Except for LSU game Rick has not played as well as last year eitehr. I will admit with pride that I am a coach Fulmer fan. But I think he fumbled the ball on this situation. He is not the first coach to do so and he will not be the last. But neither has been themselves all year.

What I know is that we have not seen improvement. I really expected him to be remarkably better than he was last year.

I agree. The kid has talent and he is not for what ever reason reaching is full potential. I think he will. But no matter what I root for the TEAM!

Ive said it b4 and ill say it again. The young man has ego issues goin on. The statement he made about hed rather stand on the sidelines for a series or two and watch how the game flows, then go in...tells volumes. IMO a psychotherapist coupled with a good qb coach who knows pro style mechanics would make this kid the next brady. Im tellin ya the kid has self esteem and or self destructive mental issues.

You said it all. He needs someone to work on his mechanics, or he is toast.

Maybe we can send Ainge up to Indy for a few weeks, then he could go to school with the greatest quarterback of all time. Learn from the Master. I just love watching Peyton take those pros to school on defense. They can't find a way to stop his brain thrust. Peyton could straighten out all of Eric's problem's in a New York minute.

You are right it is a coachable problem that being said you honesltly think that the coaches havent coached that!!!!!!!!! Even if you do coach it and a qb has happy feet its not going to do any good to coach it!!!!!!

Listen everyone has there on opinion but this kid has the same coach that made him look like a star in the makeing last year!! So as far as his footwork goes its ainges fault not the coaches. I mean whats wrong with rick?? somebody had to teach him footwork!!! Anyway ainge did take lessons with peyton manning this last summer or spring!! so its not like he has not practiced with the best!!

I said this on Monday morning, check the record, Ainge lost his guts/balls aftet the ND injury. This is why he "chucked" the ball in his own endzone. He throws are sailing because of throwing off the back foot. Sad to say but he is done. Once scared- always scared. His invincibility has been punctured.

Peyton's strength is as much mental as physical if not more, Ainge's mental game is just not there at the momement, but I have a feeling he'll be back next season.
