How many significant championships did you have as a competing athlete?Lets give each player a Trophy to go along with the 10 Wins
NO one gives a hoot about the wins without a better showing. Most programs play for A championship.
The also rans talk about W's....if it doesnt get to a Championship.
We lost in the Sweet 16. Good Season. Will it get better?
If only he wasn’t the QB when Fulmer’s teams started taking a step back, I’d probably think more fondly of him.He was QB in the biggest road wins we've had in my lifetime
He was the QB of that 2001 team. 2003 was his senior year.If only he wasn’t the QB when Fulmer’s teams started taking a step back, I’d probably think more fondly of him.
I was a freshman in 2003 and I remember close wins and disappointing losses. I distinctly remember the smell of cheap whiskey (in freezer bags), about 5 students too many per row, and a very boring offense that year.
This doesn't feel at all like when Fulmer grabbed an already well run program, improved it marginally for a few years, then cratered it through complacency. Two ten win seasons out of the past three and building the program around a freshman while also beating two of our biggest rivals; Bama and Florida.
Go Big Orange
Because we play more home than away games and he did not win consistently at home. He also had a terrible away record at neutral sites. Surely it’s possible to understand. Just try a tiny amount.I can't possibly understand why people would not want someone resembling the last QB at Tennessee to win consistently on the road....
Milton didn't
Hooker didn't
Geronimo didn't
Dobbs didn't
Bray didn't
Ainge didn't
Like it or not, pro Fulmer or anti Fulmer, Taj Boyd kick started Clemson to national prominence eventually leading national championships and being on par with Bama for several years during Nicks heyday. It’s all water under the bridge, but you can’t deny that he gave most of us alive the best years of Tennessee football. Also, allowing him to get Taj Boyd here to run Clawson’s offense would have been better than wandering around football purgatory for a decade.
Heck yeah. Two ten win seasons out of the past three and building the program around a freshman while also beating two of our biggest rivals; Bama and Florida.
Go Big Orange
He was 14-1 on the road. We haven’t had a QB sniff anywhere close to being good on the road since then.Because we play more home than away games and he did not win consistently at home. He also had a terrible away record at neutral sites. Surely it’s possible to understand. Just try a tiny amount.
Hooker did.
Nico did.
Peyton did.
Shuler did.
Dobbs did.
What did Clausen do at away games? Lose one out of 5 per season? Except for that one year when we had Henderson, Haynesworth, Greer, Grant, Washington, Stallworth, Stephens and Witten. I can’t possibly understand why you take credit from so many great players to give credit to a mediocre QB.. That bum got out dueled by Rohan Davey!
