If I were in first, I'd probably just duplicate your picks. That way you couldn't gain on me. But, if I were in your shoes I would make an initial pick of crap drivers, then revise it at the last minute.

The problem with duplicating TennFan's picks is that could allow the third place guy to gain on both. Just a note to the wise, deadline times will be enforced. Also, all have not been picking the pole position winner, those five points brought me up from a tie for sixth to third in this weeks contest.

That does complicate things, but I would still tend to worry about the closest competitor first, then go from there. I did notice that the gap from second to third is pretty small though. I just wish I was in the position to be weighing such strategies. :)

Yep, me too. My first year playing this I led most of the year, and tried your suggested strategy, and let another gain on me, who eventually won. I have always had a knack for finding loopholes.

I've made my move just before the CHASE and this is a very competitive league. I have a 143 point lead in one -different scoring on top 5 and pole and race winner and have a 70 point lead in another. Both of those are only picking top 5. Picking 2 drivers from 3 groups makes it tough especially from Group B. There has been consistency in Group C picking. Tough picking from A. But with 2 races left it's going to be tight and picking any of about 6 drivers makes it interesting. That could be the differnece in the last two races. Kasey made a difference for some this past week. What a surprise! Best of luck to all in the last 2 races, especially to SyxxSynse and Bop rocco. If YankeeVol and badkarma have exceptional weeks they have an outside shot!

An 8 point lead! Looks like 1 or 2 drivers could make the difference. It's 3 for all the marbles. It's been an interesting season and whoever wins deserves it. Best of luck to all.

It was a hard fought battle all the way to the finish, with a lot of luck along the way. I was VERY lucky in the last race, as I chose three of the six Roush or Roush affiliated cars that didn't have engine problems. Very fortunate there.

I led off and on in the middle part of the season, swapping the lead with YankeeVol seemingly week after week. I stayed in the hunt all year long and was able to stay close to the top and sneak it out at the end. It was fun competing with TennFan, bop rocco, and everyone else and I want to thank them all for a good battle that, just like the real thing, came down to the last lap at Homestead.

And a HUGE thanks to rbroyles for keeping up with the Pick' Em contest every week. I'm sure more time and patience goes into this thing than anyone realizes and it is important that we show appreciation to him for that. Thank you RB!!! :hi:

I look forward to next year and wish everyone good luck! Can't wait for Daytona 2012!! :rock:

Actually closer than I posted on the other posting. I thought it was 4. What would have happened if it had been a tie? Would there have been a tie-breaker just like the real one? Anyway congrats to SyxxSynse on your victory! My hat is off to you on the fantastic finish! Thanks to all and look forward to playing in 2012 and making a run at it again. I won 2 of the 3 NASCAR pick'ems I was in, one by 4 and the other by 70. Oh so close on the 3rd one!

I have several tie breakers listed in the contest rules thread. One is the most weekly wins.

8. Tie-breakers will be - most weekly race contests won, or highest single race score, or most race winners picked, or most pole position winners. In the advent still tied, the winner is the highest scorer in the final race.

Came bye to check how the pick em ended. I forgot my picks two weeks and knew I was toast!

You still did well.:eek:k:One driver cost me the championship. Oh well, I'lll be back for more in 2012 and believe me I'll give it my best shot just like this season. This pick'em was really exciting and several of you did well.:salute:
