Even 17 is waaaaay better than they've finished in a long while.

They're usually in the 30's and 40's
Lot of high 4⭐️ Guys in MO this cycle that wanted to stay home. Plus they got Sam Horn.

They’re likely gonna get another too with DJ Wesolak.

Kinda like Butch’s 2014 class. Just had good instate talent and legacies falling in line

I think we realistically finish around 15 even if we strike out with Nolen. I think we overtake Michigan St, Arkansas, and Stanford. A couple teams may catch us. I think it will ultimately be 15-20.

Ideally we finish with
West
Tolan
M’ba
Williams
Smith
Webb
Agu/Pearce
Igbinosun/Gilbert

Likely
M’ba
Williams
Webb
Smith
Pearce

If the “ideal” outcome happens I would think 13-14 even the “likely” outcome with some backup options and getting some impact players through the portal (Evans, Copeland, 2 OLs, 2 front 7 guys on D, and a CB) would make this season and recruiting cycle a success

The average is just as misleading. It will all even out when everybody is done. The fact is on 247 we are18th and the rivals 20th. And things will adjust out at the finish. I stand by my thinking somewhere between 10-15th probably around 12-13th and 4th in sec.
We have to step it up then because our 20th place ranking is smoke and mirrors currently.

Not every school will take 25. Good chance to finish top 20 for sure
Then we will have to bring in higher rated recruits. Maybe , maybe not. Hopefully the positive buzz with Heupel and the program will be a factor. A bowl win could help tremendously for NSD.

#1 The average per recruit is misleading as the official rank is. That would put a school like Florida in the Top 40, and they are currently ranked 77th and aren’t going to climb much higher until after early signing period. Plus you can’t really project what will happen in a class like that since they only have 7 commits.

#2 The. composite ratings are nice to get a grip on where you are at, but ultimately none of it matters because each evaluating service rates our players differently.

According to 247 recruiting ratings we have 5 4 star players signed. According to On3 we have 7 4 star players signed.

We have the 17th rated class on 247 non composite rating, and the 20th class according to on3. On Rivals we have the 19th rated class, but only 3 4 star players.

Then you have ESPN included in the composite, who have us ranked 31st, with 4 4 star players signed. ESPN recruiting rankings freaking suck. They have for years. Even Scout was better than them.
Florida is a special case because they may have trouble getting to the maximum because of the coaching transition. However I believe most schools will come close to the same number of recruits or portal transfers at the end of the day.

We will move up on signing day but so will others. Barring some unforeseen loss or flip to us we will probably finish around 15-18. We lack in the 4-5 star department to crack the top 15 and stay there
